Hello, my name is Luke Ski, and I've been performing my fandom comedy music act at conventions all across the country for 18 years. Back when I started, I used a lot of props and costumes. It was fun, but it was too much stuff to haul around everywhere, so in recent years I’ve scaled back on that quite a bit. A lot of my colleagues from “the Dr. Demento Show” and the Funny Music Project website (a.k.a. the FuMP dot com) have been doing live shows that incorporate showing videos that they sing or rap along with, and in the past few years I have been experimenting with that myself. The problem is, I’ve only been able to do that at shows where those specific acts were also performing so I could use their video performance equipment, since I don’t have any of my own, and which as a self-employed artist & entertainer, I can’t really afford.

Another problem I commonly face when performing at conventions is arriving to discover that the convention has no sound system of their own for me to use. This results in me having to grab whatever audio stuff I happen to have on me in an attempt to MacGuyver together some kind of Frankenstien sound system, to mixed results. Well, this Kickstarter project is about solving both of these problems.

I’ve decided that I want to take my live shows to the next level, and as often as possible from now on, do video accompanied concerts. I’ve already begun to create new music & comedy video content for these shows, and I’ll continue to make more as more shows are booked. The only thing that’s missing is the hardware, the professional level audio & video equipment I need to do the best shows I can do when I show up for my next convention performances. As a side note, obtaining this set-up will also allow me to assist my other comedy music colleagues at these events, and also opens the door for me to start planning group shows locally in the Chicago area. But the main point is, that with this Kickstarter, I am asking you to donate so I can get the gear I need to level up the live Luke Ski concert experience.

$1,750.00
is the goal amount of this Kickstarter. I really hope some of you fans will go for some of the multiple-Benjamin-ranged pledge prizes, but anything that any of you can donate will be greatly appreciated. Remember, if my Kickstarter doesn’t reach its goal of $1,750.00, none of the money that you pledged to donate will be donated, and I’ll get nothing! Absolutely nothing!

So, anything you can donate will help. Please spread the word to your friends online, and help me make this long-time dream of mine a reality. Thanks for visiting my Kickstarter page. ~ Luke Ski, April 17th, 2012
