Best Birthday Gift Ever!

Posted by Mad King Thomas (Creator)

Dearest Friends and Supporters:

Today is our official birthday, and I am SO PLEASED to announce that we have MADE OUR COMPLETE GOAL!!!! We could not have asked for a better birthday present! THANK YOU!!

Ten years ago today, the three of us sat in the grass of a small triangular park overlooking St. Paul, eating free ice cream cones from Ben & Jerry's. On that day we committed to sticking together, making dances, and seeing where this collaboration would take us. We had no idea what a ridiculous, awesome, challenging, fabulous decade was ahead of us, but today I am so grateful that we took that leap and that all of you have affirmed that decision with your continual support. Am I feeling really cheesy and earnest right now? Yes, but it's our birthday! I get to cry if I want to!

We are overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and amazed that we've reached our goal before the funding period is up. We didn't believe it was possible; you guys are awesome! Back when we thought we'd be struggling for the finish line, we concocted a Birthday Special: anyone who increases their pledge by $5 today gets a downloadable copy of the Mad King Thomas crown (a fun and fantastical crown that you can print out and assemble yourself, so that you can proudly be part of the monarchy... oligarchy? whatever. It's our $25 reward.)

Even though we reached our goal, we're going to go ahead with the birthday special all the way through the end of the campaign. Any additional money raised will still go towards the show- allowing us to pay our choreographers and dancers higher wages and helping to balance the budget. (Right now we're counting on ticket sales to close the gap.)

Again, thank you all for your support, for backing our 10th Anniversary show, and for having our backs over the last 10 years. Here's the to next decade!
