Neither snow nor rain nor gloom of night
Well, it is dark, we have rain, snow and sleet and ice forecast for the next 24 hours. I was up at 5am, had to cut firewood, fix the generator, diagnose and fix an electrical problem with the car, get some groceries and get a bunch of outside stuff under cover, but I also finished all the pre-press for KLG, found a coffee shop with actual 21st century internet speeds and uploaded a couple hundred megs of files to the printer. It is 7pm and I have not even fixed dinner yet. It has been a busy day.
I do not think we are going to get anything shipping in November, but the printing process is technically underway. There's a couple of minor tweaks to the original print estimate being worked out, but that's a matter of billing rather than printing so it should not involve any extra time.
The plan at this point is, assuming the printer is happy with the files, a) get a prototype copy just to make sure, b) get the full batch printed, c) start shipping the ones that I can, d) get the special ones to Lee for further processing (like the Give Lee Writer's Cramp tier).
Of course, it is always possible that the printer is unhappy with one or more of the files, or that the prototype is not quite right and something has to be tweaked, but the important thing is that the game has moved on to the next step.
With any luck, the next update will have some unboxing pics of the prototype.
