Akerman Daly is pleased to publish the most complete collection of Fabian Peake’s poetry to date and invites you to be a sponsor of this new book.
Fabian is an artist and poet whose art has been shown in the UK and abroad. He has performed his poems at venues such as Camden Arts Centre, the Purcell Rooms, Dartington Hall, Whitechapel Gallery, the British Library and at the University of Texas in Dallas.
We have worked with Fabian over the last few years, sending out his audio poems to our mailing list. Fabian is a terrific poet, who says that he was ‘compelled to write poetry because my ideas began to arrive in different forms. Some would make their appearance in visual form and others in written form.’

To celebrate the book there will be a launch to which all sponsors will be invited. There will be readings by Fabian and time to talk with him afterwards.
Our aim here is to raise £3,500 to cover basic costs, but please help us to exceed this. All monies will go to the publication and towards helping us support artists' writing.
How can you help?
We believe that by inviting individuals to take an active role in realising this project it can be made in the same spirit of creativity that characterises the poems. The publication date for the book is autumn 2014 and we are looking to secure funding in June. In exchange for your assistance, we are offering a range of rewards:
Reward #1 For £10: A signed copy of Through A Window: Poems and Drawings by Fabian Peake. This publication has ten poems and drawings and is not available anywhere else.
Reward #2 For £25: A limited edition softback copy of the book Loose Monk, your name printed inside with thanks and an invitation to the launch.
Reward #3 For £50: A signed hardback edition of Loose Monk, your name printed inside with thanks, and an invitation to the launch. This edition will feature a frontispiece woodcut specially made by Fabian.
Reward #4 For £100: We are offering consultation time with Akerman Daly. For your donation we can devise a bespoke session to: read your writing and give feedback, advice and suggestions; give advice on commissioning and publishing; or give ideas on how to distribute or disseminate your work in print or online. We are experienced commissioners, publishers and editors and can tailor this session specifically to your needs. This reward is suitable for either individuals or organisations.
Reward #5 For £150: An A3 sized silk-screen print of the poem Mistake (edition of 30, 300gsm fabriano archival paper). This unique artwork by Fabian Peake will accompany a hardback copy of Loose Monk, your name printed inside with thanks, and an invitation to the launch.
Reward #6 For £200: A special commission (painting, drawing or woodcut) from Fabian, alongside a hardback copy of Loose Monk, your name printed inside with thanks, an invitation to the launch.
Thank you for your support.

About Akerman Daly
Akerman Daly is Jeremy Akerman and Eileen Daly. We formed our collaboration in 2004 specifically to publish writing by artists.
We commission and publish fiction, non-fiction, poetry and criticism either in hard copy or digitally through our website; our first book, The Alpine Fantasy of Victor B, brought together fiction stories by 17 contemporary artists. We have also published books with Jon Thompson and Paul Rooney.
We are a not-for-profit partnership and raise money from scratch to fund all our projects. Subscribers to our free mailing list receive artworks directly to their email inbox by artists such as Patrick Coyle, Katrina Palmer, Heather Phillipson, Fiona Banner, George Shaw and Jess Flood-Paddock. We take part in book fairs and organise performance and reading events by the artists we work with.

Risks and challenges
Akerman Daly has published a number of books to date. This experience means we are confident about how to achieve the highest quality of publication from the funds available. We have managed to meet the challenges of the projects we've undertaken to date and worked out ways to tackle any problems that come up along the way. Some of the money for the book is secured and the Kickstarter campaign is the remaining amount that we need.
We have professional experience in editing and copy editing, which will ease the publishing process by keeping this element in-house. Due to the spatial consideration of the poems, we shall ensure design of the book is in line the poems themselves and our meetings with Fabian and Fraser so far have generated some great ideas for how the book will look.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
