We did it!! We broke $5000 so we spent a week making these gift boxes for people who want their dice to be a Valentine's gift!

(Now back to our campaign story! :D )
Recently we came up with the idea of mixing chocolates together in a swirl pattern inside the actual mold, to create swirled chocolate dice that resemble some of our favorite patterns of dice in real life. After all, why have solid gaming dice when you can have beautiful swirls of color? We were not sure if it would even be possible to do this with chocolate...
....so we tried it out:
As you can see, in this batch of dice we did a few attempts at swirled chocolate, and with just a bit of practice, we actually got really good at it! We even began doing three color swirls to do various themed patterns!
Not wanting to stop there, we tried the chocolate swirl in our huge 1/2 pound D20 mold (Yes, this D20 really does weigh half a pound of solid chocolate!)
We realized very early on, that if we did this, we would get a lot more dice orders. We've already dealt with bulk orders for dice for events like weddings and conventions, and we know we can make hundreds of dice if the pressure is on. However, making the swirled dice adds a complication of having to melt multiple colors of chocolate at the same time, as well as having more molds at the ready for even larger orders. Knowing this, we decided to launch a kickstarter to fund an expansion of our current setup, with more melters, more mixers, and of course more molds!
Not wanting to leave the gummies out, we carefully worked out a way to fill a single three part mold with liquid gummy to create molded gummy gaming dice. This was NOT easy, since unlike chocolate, we cannot simply fill two halves of a mold and squish them together (the gummy will not set up the same way chocolate does). We did find a way, however, and it's going to mean making even more molds!
We'll be adding all these options to our Etsy shop as soon as our campaign is successful, and we're certain it will be. We plan to fulfill ALL of the kickstarter orders before Valentines, so feel free to order as a special gift! :D

!!WARNING!! Our products, raw materials, and mixing/molding utensils may contain or come into contact with cocoa, gluten, soy, milk products, and nuts such as peanuts or almonds. We understand many individuals have allergy concerns and we are happy to accommodate them at no additional charge. Either contact us or comment if you have a specific allergy concern you would like us to address.
At this time, unfortunately, we are only able to ship within the United States due to the longer shipping times of international shipping causing an extremely high risk of the chocolates melting or deforming in transit.
Well, we've blown through our first expansion goal and we've had to modify our other expansion goals to try and keep up with just how amazing all of you have been in supporting our project!
Our second goal is ready for funding, and will kick in at $3000! For this goal, we will unlock the option to choose "Rainbow" instead of a specific set of colors for a swirled dice set. The rainbow option will be available to everyone who has chosen a $10 tier or higher, and we will be doing rainbow sets in both chocolates and gummies.
For chocolates, you can choose from a swirl including white, milk, or dark chocolate, and we intend to use the colors pictured in the photo below, but we may have to substitute orange since it may not be readily available to us as a chocolate color.
For gummies, we'll do a mix of flavors, each labeled so you know what you are getting, most likely to include Cherry, Orange, Lemon or Pineapple, Lime or Green Apple, Blue Raspberry, Grape, and we'll be experimenting with others to round out the 7-color set!
Please follow our campaign to see more of these expansion goals pop up as we see the response to the campaign!
Donation Reward Tiers:
Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge we could face is fulfilling all of the donation rewards. Fortunately, we've had some practice due to the success of our Etsy shop during the holidays, and fulfilling some large bulk orders for events!
The biggest advantage to this arrangement is that if we get a large number of backers, we will have the funds to create even more silicone molds. Currently we can make hundreds of dice per day already, and additional molds will just increase our capacity to fulfill large requests!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
