Im Alice Fredenham. You may remember me from Britains Got Talent in 2013. I was the woman Simon Cowell said had a voice like "liquid gold" and I sang "My Funny Valentine "and cried a lot!! (yep I was very, very nervous) here is the link
I have probably one of the most interesting stories from the show. The panel and Simon liked me so much that some of the newspapers here in the UK decided I was "a plant" and already had a deal etc. This was because I had been on The Voice (where I didnt fare so well in the auditions) and someone decided to post that up. I then decided to go for Britains Got Talent without telling anyone, not even my family--just in case I failed. There were also a couple of videos of me recording some demos at a studio that the media latched onto. These were all totally amateur. My experience up to that point was singing at weddings/christenings etc and I had a day job too.
The papers were totally incorrect, there was never any arrangement/deal in place, I had never met any of them before . The upshot was that I got some "nasty press" that was not deserved and hence did not progress . beyond the semi finals. I was offered later in the year a demo deal with Sony to see how it went , but sadly the person who really liked me is no longer with them , so Sony decided not to go ahead on their option. Therefore Im looking to get help to make a first studio album from the lovely people out there that have supported me on Facebook, You Tube (21,000,000 hits) unbelievable!!!! Thank you all so much.
A good quality new album is not cheap to make, and in my case I dont have a home studio etc , so need to budget for this as well as musicians, , etc I am lucky that I do have some friends who work in the business and have distribution, press and manufacture etc already in place, provided I can raise the funds to record the album. These days the labels as well tend to want a "finished" album with an untested artist.
I do hope as well to be doing live dates, but feel this is best kept out of pledges as would rather book once I know the release is well on the way. However all pledgerees (what do you call the lovely people who help make something possible) will be offered first option for any shows.
Risks and challenges
I have allowed for a September delivery if successfully funded because its unlikley I would be able to start recording till April -simply because of booking musicians/studios etc and I also would need to be well rehearsed song wise--so that I can keep the studio time down. I have experienced help from within the business with this project, someone who believes in me and has the knowledge of all areas needed to get the show on the road. Whilst this amount I am seeking to raise is the minimum to make it work, if the budget went slightly over but the proof of "an audience/demand" was there, then help would be available.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
