About this Project:
It’s not a bread knife, it’s the Sandwich Knife. It happened almost 300 years ago, Britain’s greatest contribution to gastronomy, the sandwich. John Montagu, the 4th Earl of Sandwich, created the sandwich as a way to eat a meal while gambling with friends. Since his time, not much has changed with the mighty sandwich.
What is it:
The Sandwich Knife is designed to cut fresh bread creating the perfect sandwich vessel for making the ultimate sandwich. The Sandwich Knife allows you to eat your sandwich as you intended; with all the ingredients remaining inside the sandwich and without the sauce running down your arms.
How it Works:
The Sandwich Knife incorporates two parallel and vertically offset blades with specially designed teeth that can cut two perfectly connected slices of bread at one time. The vertically offset blades do not cut through the bottom crust between the slices, keeping the bottom crust between the slices intact, which holds all the sauce and ingredients inside the sandwich where they belong!
How to make a sandwich using the Sandwich Knife:
Once the fresh bread has been cut with the Sandwich Knife, simply open the two connected bread slices, spread your sauce, add as many ingredients as you want, then you are good to go.
How to eat a Sandwich Knife sandwich:
With your hands holding the sandwich, they naturally seal two of the three remaining open edges of the sandwich. This leaves just the one open edge on the top from which to eat. This configuration creates a perfect sandwich seal with all the ingredients and sauce remaining inside the sandwich.
Key Benefits and Features:
- Consistently better sandwiches

What the Funds will be used for:
The funds raised through this Kickstarter campaign will be used to help reach the minimum production required to retail at this price. All the research, design, prototyping, and patent work involved with the Sandwich Knife is already paid. Your preorder is strictly to help reach the minimums required to produce this product in America.
Risks and challenges
We have worked with engineers and designers to complete the final design and have produced a functional prototype. The Sandwich Knife and my manufacturer are ready for production.
As with any new project, there can always be unexpected challenges, but at this point with the Sandwich Knife we are confident in our timeline as our manufacturer does not foresee any risks with making the timeline work. Even so, we have added additional time just in case something does come up. Hopefully, we can ship early.
In addition, we have chosen to manufacture in the USA at a slightly higher cost than other regions based on quality, locality, and history. We feel doing this not only supports business in North America, but also reduces any additional risk or challenges associated with manufacturing a new product overseas.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
