I'm with Both Sides of My Table on the enemy tokens matter. I'm a little afraid on how will they fit on the map with everything else... On the same way, I'm also not convinced with the grain shaped tokens.
A lot of games are using customized shaped tokens, not all of them usefully or necessarily, some others doing it great. But I don't think Donning the Purple needs it. In my perspective, balancing the maps, player mats and the other tokens, I think the cubes would keep the game more elegant.
Besides that, looking good and I'm glad I found out this project before its end.
I do like the idea of custom shaped enemy tokens although, from a practicality point of view, I wonder how ‘fiddly’ the sword might prove to be when picking up, moving about the board and (when large numbers are grouped together) populate various locations. I know all games seem to use custom shaped meeples (and it is good to move away from that trend) but meeples do tend to occupy vertical space...just a personal musing or two.
The project is coming along nicely...hopefully the momentum will continue to rise as the 48hr reminders go out
