About this project
Welcome to the Kickstarter campaign for StarJacked: The Adventure Begins. We are Tanuki-geddon Studio and we live in Savannah, GA. Our studio is new but we are going to hopefully produce games for everybody to love. Jeremiah and Justin are eager to put their stuff out there with our new studio. We both love to game and create them so here we are to try and release our first game if we get enough support.
StarJacked is inspired by the love of sci-fi with the magic of gaming together. The gameplay is like an FPS/ TPS with a twist to main objectives. There is no actual mission forced on the player that they have to deal with. Once released from the tutorial area, you control what happens. You might be thinking this is a bad thing, but in retrospect there is a general line. There is a time period that continues at a steady pace and you control what happens within.
The core game mechanics have been in progress for some time now but now we think that the game needs more time to become fully developed and more polished. We are very busy making sure all of the art is done correctly and will be high in standard in our final project. The soundtrack is currently being thought about as we are trying to figure out what would suit the game best.
The goal is to raise $25,000 in order to pay for everything we need to bring the game to fruition. This will include art, music, reward shipping costs, and costs over time. This will help give the time to finish creating the game and make it real. We have various rewards to give to those interested in this project.
We will update as regularly as possible. These will include adding in more videos as more content becomes polished and available for the public. We have plenty of other ideas, but only if this makes it will we be able to share our arsenal of amazing games.
StarJacked: The Adventure Begins is a 3D Adventure game more primarily focused on giving the gamer the option of exploration or action. With the player using basic keyboard controls and mouse aim or reprogrammable buttons to suit people’s needs, you go exploring the systems looking for your stolen sun. The player aims to do particularly anything they want to do. They could go on a fervent hunt to retrieve the sun or go out exploring the star systems for what they contain. The only constraint is a timeline which can become endless. You have the ability to outfit your character and it visually changes the character as you do so and you are tracked with a life bar. You might be thinking does this mean the game will not have enemies or few of them based on what I do? The answer is no, there are enemies to face with varied variety in look and strategy.
The player will either use mouse and keyboard for the PC version or controllers for the console. The game is played in FPS and most likely a TPS to give options to those who desire it. You typically roam around looking to do as you wish. You can go look for clues to the whereabouts of the sun, dungeon crawl, raise a family, and so on. As you complete tasks and do things you will level up in that manor where you can grow as you wish.
You have the ability to upgrade current weapons, ship modules, among other things. You salvage items from various places to do so and if you go exploring there are many items that can become extremely deadly. You might want to upgrade planet scanning to make trips safer or make more firepower available to simply destroy things as they come, in the end it is your decision. Salvaging is not a typical look everywhere for junk or tries to look for this continual junk pattern, you will travel worlds and might notice interesting locales or clues about whereabouts of rare salvage loot.
You start out as you did every other day; you were on your way to your job to begin your work day as a head scientist’s assistant. Keeping things running smoothly was your typical job as well as whatever else you were asked to do. However, you and the other denizens of Hadosia witness a horrifying event. Something begins to envelope one of your two suns with a strange light and it suddenly vanishes from plain view! Noticing this you decide… you decide! What do you decide? Depending on your course of actions or lack thereof, you can open multiple storylines and intertwine them into others if you prefer.
There is the option of deciding to give chase to the star jackers or allow them to do as they please to your sun. You can continue with the events that will soon happen on your home world or abandon it. You can go off into space and just explore. There is the option to aid in the impending doom or just avoid everyone altogether and become a hermit. Whatever you decide will accompany other elements and various strange anomalies that will make each play through different from the last.
All Kickstarter Backers who Pledge $25 or more will receive a bonus expansion to add to their game. The expansion will add several goodies that will only be available to Kickstarter backers.
