About this project
Every good project has in it the seeds of a great adventure and the unwavering belief that it can succeed. The best projects are those that combine passion and belief with solid groundwork. They make participating in the adventure irresistible. Our dedicated team is busy turning "IM-possible" into "IN-credible" by bringing back the magic to the Christmas season via a new hero called Jim. All of the money raised through KickStarter will be used to: Illustrate the book, secure the first run of sculptures of all the characters and to create the movie script which will serve as the basis upon which a full-length animated movie will come to life. Christmas in New York brings snow, excitement and the possibility of miracles and magic. When a young boy with an uncertain future makes an unselfish wish he unwittingly turns everyday people around him into heroes.
As a published author, Judy wrote Christmas at Jim's Place after the tragic events of September 11 with the intention of turning a tragedy into a triumph. With our proven track records in global human resources and psychology, we want to reawaken the "can-do" spirit that makes America great. Instead of focusing on what's wrong in this country, we want to engage and inspire a nation to rediscover its sense of community, vision and caring hearts for the many unsung heroes amongst us.
We have already lined up illustrators, sculptors and animators currently affiliated with such groups as Disney and DreamWorks. The story has been written and the screen writer is ready to begin work once funding has been secured.
Risks and challenges
With anything creative, there is always a risk of production delays and identifying the right team of talented individuals to create the phenomenon we envisage. Our project plan includes sufficient time and resources to execute all of our goals; all we need now is the financial support of the KickStarter community. We have invested our heart, soul, time and money and have already located and begun working with a well-established group who’s creative projects include work for Pixar, Disney, Jim Henson’s Muppets, LeapFrog, San Francisco Music Box Company, the sci-fi movie The Fly, Being John Malkovich. Additionally, one of the partners has a long history of sculpting dolls including the Spice Girls, Rita Hayworth, Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake which makes her the perfect choice for sculpting the characters in Christmas at Jim’s Place. Based upon our story, they have drawn and delivered 6 potential faces for Jim, the main character from which we’ve selected the face of our hero.
This company will be instrumental in helping us to lock in an illustrator and screenplay writer with exactly the right skill sets and the time to commit to the project due dates.
For delivery of the rewards, we have identified the vendors and our schedule is designed to maximize both creation and delivery of the merchandise to our new KickStarter fans in time for Christmas 2014.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
