We are excited to present "Automania", a brand new tabletop strategy game from the designer of "Escape: Curse of the Temple". The game is for 2-4 players aged 12+, with a playing time of 60-90 minutes.
In "Automania", you run a car factory, trying to produce the most popular cars on the market. To achieve this, you buy tiles to upgrade and customize your factory, and hire specialist employees which provide a variety of advantages.
Central to the game are the factory boards: Each player has a factory with three assembly lines, and each line produces one type of car. You can put machine tiles along your lines to change the specifications of your cars. However, your three assembly lines intersect, so each machine tile placed might affect more than one type of car. Therefore you have to think carefully about where you put those machines.
When you produce a car, it must be shipped to one of two markets. Choosing the right market is crucial, as one market provides more money, while the other provides more prestige. Each market has some demands, and the better your car matches these demands, the more popular your car will be in that market. The most popular cars will sell first and reap the highest profits.
Automania has simple, streamlined rules, but enough tactical and strategic options to be labeled a gamer's game. It combines several new and unique mechanics to deliver a solid euro-style gaming experience.
The game will be printed with the German game manufacturer Ludofact, so you can expect high quality components. It will ship to backers as soon as it is ready, and according to plan that will be late fall of 2015.
Why should I back now?
Automania is a "gamers' game", and the international market for such games is actually quite small. There is no guarantee that a small company like ours will be able to produce a second printing of a game like this - and this is one game you don't want to miss out on! Trust us. After all, we made this game, so we should know.

Video preview w/ rules explanation - by Jason Woodburn:
The game is produced in Germany and bulk shipped to the US and to Norway before being distributed to individual backers. This means that you as a backer should not have to care about customs within those countries.
Since we are a Norwegian company, all our prices on Kickstarter have to be in Norwegian currency. The shipping costs listed below are therefore estimates. The exact shipping cost will be shown when you pledge!
USA: $9 (ships from USA)
EU: €12 (ships from Germany)
Canada: $22 (ships from USA)
Norway: 149 NOK (ships from Norway)
Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Mexico: $48 (ships from USA)
For the double pack and six-pack, shipping costs are increased (multiplied by 1.5 and 2.0 respectively).
For the Doodle Bundle, shipping costs are increased by a small amount.
We also offer a limited bundle pledge level for Automania + Doodle City. Doodle City is Aporta Games' first game, a family friendly puzzle game about building cities and drawing roads.
Read more about Doodle City on Board Game Geek.
If you pledge for the bundle, Doodle City will be shipped together with Automania, and there is a small increase in shipping costs for the bundle.
Risks and challenges
The plan is to print "Automania" during the fall of 2015, ready to be shipped in october/november. We have teamed up with experienced partners, but since "Automania" is our first kickstarter project, we are fully aware that unforeseen events might still occur. The games are all produced and packed with one single manufacturer, which reduces the risk of something going wrong. We promise we will do our best to ship the games within the promised dates.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
