Social Toast-Tees, LLC. is a designer t-shirt company who's designs offer products for members of the straight and LGBT communities.
Social Toast-Tees, LLC. is a designer t-shirt company that is in the beginning stages of being launched by its owners, Alyx Jayden Tinker and his wife Lois Hickey. A.J. Tinker also creates all the designs used for the products sold by this company, and Lois assists in managing and promoting the projects created. A.J. and Lois have decided to create Social Toast-Tees because they felt that it was time that a company was created that offered the type of A+ customer service that shows each individual customer that they are appreciated and that we are grateful for your business. A.J. is a transgender man, and because of his transitional journey, he and Lois have placed a strong focus on not only offering witty t-shirt designs with a fun logo, but also in creating the Social Toast-Tees Brosepho Tranz Collection, which is dedicated to offering original designs to the transgender community. As Social Toast-Tees prepares to launch its Webstore on June 1, 2013, A.J. and Lois have begun to develop other fashion collections to add to Social Toast-Tees, LLC., such as the "Don't Put Me in a Box" collection, that depicts the fight for individuals to rebel against the labels that society places on them, such as gay, straight, tranz, etc. This collection will be released in August 2013.
Aside from the designs Social Toast-Tees offers, A.J. Tinker and his wife Lois Hickey have a strong desire to help others within their community and want to ensure that giving back to others is a large part of their business focus. Because of they have designed a Boston Strong t-shirt to raise money for One-Fund Boston to help those tragically affected by the Boston Marathon Bombing. 100% of the profits from the sale of each shirt are currently being donated. Also, once Social Toast-Tees, LLC. has obtained funding and successfully launched, A.J. and Lois are planning to donate $1 from the sale of each item to organizations that offer shelter, care, education, and other necessities to LGBTQ youth. Once this donation process begins, it will remain indefinite, and will apply to all products offered by Social Toast-Tees, LLC.
The funding that we are asking for will allow us to purchase our inventory in a cost efficient manner, to fund our equipment needs, and other operating costs, such as salary costs, webstore and marketing costs, and obtaining the necessary licenses to officially and legally conduct business. Your donations are greatly appreciated to help us get this project off the ground!

As a new business, we understand that there will be many challenges and obstacles throughout our journey toward success. At this current stage of business preparation, we have overcome several trials and tribulations, such as how to market our product, where to order our products from, what the most cost efficient manner of ordering inventory are, and how to properly and professionally create and manage a website.
Because funds have been low, both Lois and A.J. have and will continue to work at their current jobs to ensure that their personal needs are met, This will ensure that the funds obtained through fundraisers and the sale of Social Toast-Tees products will be used for the needs of the business, rather than needing to live off of the money that comes in from the business as the organization begins its introduction period.
To ensure that the webstore is properly marketed, A.J. and Lois have used their own funds to hire a marketing and website building company to both assist with the advertising as well as ensure that the website is fully functional and maintained in a manner that promotes Social Toast-Tees and allows our customers to easily navigate the website for their products of interest. To assist with advertising, Lois and A.J. have also made contacts with other business owners, who have assisted in the way of how to create and effectively run this business. These business owners are also assisting with the advertising of the products through posting flyers in their stores, adding the store link to their webpage (including the Social Toast-Tees, LLC. Facebook Page), and wearing t-shirts created by our company.
To ensure that we continue to have proper funding for the future of Social Toast-Tees, it is A.J. and Lois's plan to continue to put a percentage of each of their paychecks into the business account each month, therefore maintaining the necessary cash needed for operating purposes.
Aside from these issues that are currently being addressed, we do foresee the possibility of issues pertaining to profitability of products if we are unable to obtain the funds needed to financially begin our business. If we are unable to order our products in bulk, each individual order can take up to 3 weeks for the customer to receive. This can become problematic in the event that the customer wants their product immediately. To resolve this issue, we will offer an expedited printing fee, to cover the additional costs of conducting a rush order. This will ensure that the consumer receives their product quickly. To make this less of an issue, Lois and A.J. are planning to order a very small number of shirts for their product line, in order to meet the initial needs of customers upon opening their shop.
Another strong qualification that will prove favorable to the success of Social Toast-Tees is A.J.'s background in business. A.J. currently has his Associates degree in Foundations of Business, and will be completing his Bachelor's degree in Business and Entrepreneurial studies with a concentration in Management in May 2014. As a business student, A.J. is experienced in managerial accounting, business law, management, and many other areas of business. His education in this field along with his current involvement with the Small Business Association and Score have and will continue to help A.J. and Lois build a strong business plan pertaining to the needs of Social Toast-Tees, LLC.
