About this project
Homespun Horror would like to tackle a live action short of the truly outrageous 80's cartoon Jem and The Holograms. We have already gathered a full cast and crew, but we need funds for fashion, locations and for all that trademark hair.
Cast and Crew are on a total volunteer basis so we will use our funds wisely. We are huge Jem fans and would really love to see a live action Jem done right; we want to make it true to the show while modernizing it just enough to make it believable. We have our heart set on this short, but we need your help as we are a non profit film making co-op! No money will be made off of this completed film. We have set our goal low, because we will work with what we can get; it is, of course, easier to work with more than less!
Homespun Horror and Freehand Flicks has officially been around since 2008 but we were making movies long before that, and even putting on plays in front yards as kids. We have won contests with Alamo Drafthouse and were featured on Austin radio and newspapers for our Gagarazzi event in 2011 that pulled in record turnout for a charitible benefit. Homespun Horror is an entirely non-profit, co-op film making group.
