A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
Planning is supposed to make your life easier, not harder. Most planners, however, fall short of their promises. They don’t improve your productivity or help you to gain clarity in your life: they are so cluttered and over-complicated that they end up creating more work for you and obfuscating even the most straightforward tasks and projects. What you need is simplicity that you can rely on. Simplicity will put you on the right track and guide you toward greater productivity, and it will enable you to achieve all the goals that you set for yourself and then some. That’s all well and good, you may be thinking. But how can I really find simplicity in planning?
This is how. The Artemis Planner, designed for people whose schedules are busy but also designed with your flexibility and creativity in mind, will help you simplify your life. You can finally get organized the way you want to get organized and start to live your life on your own terms. All those other planners? With their endless questionnaires and clumsy formatting? Throw them out! Rip the pages from the binding and toss them onto a bonfire! The Artemis Planner, featuring 230 full A5 size pages bound within a hard cover, is the last and only planner you will ever need.
I am coming to you, Kickstarter, for help raising the funds necessary for publishing, marketing, and distributing the Artemis Planner. My goal is $12,000, and every dollar helps. I appreciate your support and thank you for your time.
Are you nervous about starting on your new and productive journey alone? Are you a bullet journaler who wants more structure? Are you good at scheduling but need a bit of help focusing on your personal needs? Do you struggle to set goals and habits? Do you want to really understand the workflow and philosophy behind Artemis Planners so that you can get the most out of it?
I am offering a limited number of one-on-one personal video consultations where we will go through your planner system together.
You will get tailored advice for goal setting, habit formation, and productivity to suit your unique needs so Artemis Planners can work for you.
Consultations will be approximately 1 hour long and scheduling will be available after you receive your planner. Further details will arrive through a backer-only update.
Planners are made to last an entire year and you will touch it as much as a wallet, so it needs to be sturdy enough to carry around and write in everyday. You deserve a tool that you love to use.
I've chosen to go with offset printing and a smyth sewn, case binding. What this means to you is that the book will open wide, pages will not fall out, and the printing quality is really high.
105gsm paper is the good stuff for your good pens. (Sharpie will show, but it won't bleed through)
Full A5 paper size (5.8"x8.3" or 148 x 210 mm), the cover is slightly larger.
Kickstarter Exclusive: Unique gold foil number on the back cover of the planner.
This is not just a pretty planner, it is a tool, and like any good tool, you should know how to use it effectively. I've written a concise six-part guide to help you:
Your portable life coach: focus on more than your appointments and checklists, because you are more than appointments and checklists. At regular intervals, we'll take a step back and make sure that you're working towards what's really important to you.
Monthly Reviews: Focused on your self interest and happiness. Reflect on your progress last month and prepare for the upcoming month.
Yearly Review: You just completed an orbit around our local star! Celebrate that by thinking long and hard about your life choices.
The Goal Setting worksheet ensures that your goal meets three criteria:
Motivating: Why do you want to achieve this goal?
Transformative: How will it make your life better?
Challenging: What changes do you need to make to crush it?
Monthly Goal Check-ins: Every month we'll quickly check that you're still on track, identify any obstacles and make a plan for further pursuit of your goal.
Monthly Habit Tracker: Habits are important, don't try to deny it. You are either in control of them, or being controlled by them.
The weekly view is where most of the planning happens, put your appointments, must-do tasks and notes here. 52 undated weeks included.
Hourly Design: There is a line for every half hour between 6am and 11pm. There is also an AM/PM slot for early birds and night owls who have appointments outside the time line.
Undated Monday Start: The weeks start on Monday and both weekend days are slightly shaded.
Inspirational Quotes: No nonsense here. Quotes from admirable people to inspire you to be your best.
Plenty of daily space for notes and doodles.
You need a tool that doesn't get in the way of actual work. Only use the structure that you need and see your plans from a high yearly level all the way down to 30 minute time slots.
Year at a Glance: See all 12 months on two pages, perfect for seeing the big picture, and important dates.
Twelve undated calendar months: A whole year that starts whenever you're ready. If you skip a week or two, no big deal, you won't waste any pages.
Fifty-two undated weeks: Monday through Sunday
Hourly: From 6am to 11pm, time is broken into 30 minute increments with additional AM/PM slots for early birds and night owls.
These are nice features that are often lacking in box-store planners. It's these simple additions that really enhance the user experience.
2019-2022 Mini Calendars: Handy little calendars to date your planner and see what day your birthday is on in three years.
Ideal Week: A super useful feature to help bridge the gap between digital calendars and analog ones. Put recurring tasks and appointments on a master list
Online Password Keeper Page: I switch between a lot of devices and a lot of accounts, this simple page helps keep everything straight.
Online Purchase Tracker: I’m only a little ashamed of how much money I spend on Etsy and Amazon…
To-do list pages: Organize by context and efficiently go from to-do to to-done. Based on David Allen's GTD methodology.
Project pages: A project is anything that requires more than one task to complete. Keep those tasks grouped together on special project pages.
20 Dot grid pages: Dots are 4mm apart! Dot grid is soo in right now.
Folks who share and subscribe will only receive the Monday-start PDF.
I needed a tool that was powerful and flexible enough to support me, I’ve served in the United States Air Force, worked at NASA’s Jet propulsion Laboratory and gone back to school as a non-traditional student. As a full time student with three jobs, I needed a tool that was adaptive to the many hats I wear.
I tried apps, and between the five that I was using, things kept falling through the cracks, and I was numb to all the notifications. Paper planners worked to a point, but were never robust enough.
I love trying out productivity systems and teaching. According to audible I have nearly 16 days of listening completed, most of that falling into business, self-improvement and productivity (I'm a joy at dinner parties).
In the Air Force, I taught as much as I could and volunteered for training positions whenever they opened up. I've taught at a Montessori high-school, which was a joy and as a Graduate Assistant in college which was less of a joy.
I really love working with people and helping them improve areas of their lives. Seeing people get closer to being their best selves is important to me. That’s one of the big reasons why I made Artemis Planners, and why I want to personally help you.
The funding goal for this Kickstarter will cover the expenses of the entire project. This covers the printing of the book, and having it shipped to my distribution partner. It also covers Kickstarter fees, payment processing fees, and a little bit extra for any uncalculated costs that I may encounter a long the way. If funding surpasses the stretch goals, I will be able to produce more than 500 copies.
We understand that money can be tight. If you can’t support us at the entry level, you can still be a part of this project by sharing us with someone you think would could benefit from Artemis Planners. To say thank-you, we will give you the full Monday-start, undated PDF when you share and subscribe!
February 2019 is my worst-case-scenario shipping date. My best-case-scenario shipping date will have rewards in your hand before Christmas 2018. Very little of this process is in my control after I hand off to the printers though.
Kickstarter Ends: 30 September 2018,
Downloads sent out: First week of October
Production begins:First week of October
Estimated production: 4 Weeks
Shipment across the ocean and to eFulfillement shipping center: 6 weeks
I am a first-time project creator but, the planner contents have already been designed, laid-out, edited, tested and sent to the printer.
All of the work on the planner is complete. It just needs your help to be printed!
Packaging and shipping of the finished planner will be handled directly by PrintNinja, they are veteran Kickstarter fulfillment partners and have helped create over 200 projects.
There is about a 10 week turnaround on production of the book that includes shipping from overseas. If the project is fully funded, and after payment is received (usually about 2 weeks after a successful Kickstarter ends) I will send everything off to be turned into a book!
My worst case shipping date is February 2019, estimates were provided to me by my partners, and then I added a week or two to each step. The main shipment will be arriving in the US during the holiday season, so this is a big wildcard. I know that shipping is one of the biggest grievances about Kickstarter, as a regular backer myself, which is why I've sourced a fulfillment center for my first project.
You'll receive the pure love and gratitude of Emily Bujold and the Artemis Planners Team. You are directly responsible for the success of this project by backing us. Thank you so much for your support.
You will gain access to ALL DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT including the full planner in PDF form with both Monday and Sunday start, as soon as the campaign ends.
If additional content is unlocked via stretch goals, this will also be sent to you.
Two Artemis Planners and two productivity consultations for twice the fun! Gift a planner and a lesson to a friend and experience your newfound productivity together. Or keep them both for yourself! (How clever of you)
In the private video consultations I help you set up your planner, work through any of your specific needs, and teach you productivity tips to last the year!
But that's not all! You also get the complete planner PDF collection, Artemis Planner stickers, and the wooden coin with our logo on it.
You will be able to download and print the PDF as soon as the campaign ends.
