The ultimate way to display your Saturn V rocket model kit! The mobile launcher Apollo Saturn model kit in 3 different scales!!!
LVM Studios is specialized in designing and manufacturing real space model kits. In 2014 we started with our biggest project yet, a model kit of the Mobile launcher Apollo Saturn.
In 2014 we did research, engineering and prototyping for this project. The result was the presentation of a prototype showing the construction of the launch umbilical tower (LUT) at Scale Model World in Telford UK in November 2014.
The reactions and feedback from the public were fantastic and we decided to continue the project. In order to get the designs finished and start the production we initiated this Kickstarter campaign to get the project finished. In this campaign we offer a limited number of full kits againt a reduced price and free shipping.
In November 2015 LVM Studios will present a fully finished 1/72 model of the Mobile launcher at Scale Model World in Telford (UK) on 7 and 8 November 2015.
From November 2015 everyone who missed the Kickstarter campaign or who was not able to back this project is able to purchase these model kits. We decided to make a series of 9 kits to make your model complete and make it affordable for a wider public as you purchase the following kit as your model progresses.
- 1/72: Recommended for the Dragon Saturn V
- 1/96: Recommended for the Revell Saturn V
- 1/144: Recommended for the Airfix, Revell or Monogram Saturn V
The kits included:
- CNC machined plastic parts
- Photo etch parts
- Resin parts
- Assembly manual
As with all our model kits it is designed for easy assembly, suitable for moderate to advanced model builders.
Help us getting this project successful by becoming a backer or just by sharing it on social media!
From November 2015 the model kits will be available from our dealers and distributors:
Risks and challenges
There is little risk is involved in this project. LVM Studios has done a lot of model building products over the years, see www.LVM-Studios.com. The biggest risk is time/planning in finishing the designs for the model kit parts but that can be easily solved by adding extra engineers to the project. There are no technical risk as we have verified the design by making a prototype to test assembly methods and parts layout.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
