You can join Tart Acid and her comrades Lemon La Morgue and Gloom Tangerine as they investigate the world’s most haunted waterway.
Tart 5 is the second installment of our “Submerged” storyline. In it, we find our three Toxic Fruit soldiers exploring an area of the world known as Truk Lagoon. The lagoon was the setting of Operation Hailstone, one of the deadliest Pacific Island battles of WW II. To this day, the waters of the area are littered with sunken ships, downed jets and - if some are to be believed - the souls of soldiers who perished there over six decades ago.
With their training mission completed, Tart and her friends stick around to learn if Truk Lagoon truly is haunted. If so, by what?
Once again, Ludovic Salle’ and Kevin Joseph are asking the Kickstarter community to help them tell Tart’s story and present it in a form that matches the printing quality of the biggest companies on the market
If we’re able to surpass our funding goal, we will print copies of Tart #5 in the highest quality offset printing presses available. With your help, Tart #5 will be second to none in terms of story, art and printing quality.
If this is your first introduction to Tart, catching up is simple and affordable. Due to the overwhelming generosity of two previous groups of Kickstarter backers, we have plenty of copies of Tart Vol. 1 (a trade paperback collecting issues 1-3) and Tart #4 for you to grab as a reward in this campaign. No worries if you’re new to us, we welcome you to the Toxic Universe.
If you’re returning to Tart, thank you for your continued support. We LITERALLY can’t do it without you.
Now to the important stuff - THE REWARDS
Risks and challenges
This is our third project, which means we have a little experience. But every project is different, so we aren't cocky.
Obviously if we don't achieve funding it would be an insurmountable hurdle to print Tart 5 the way we want to.
If funding is achieved, our biggest risk is that to afford to print at the quality we're shooting for, we must print overseas. This makes delays from shipping to customs possible.
To limit the risk, we only Kickstart books where the art is 100% completed. Our turnaround to the printer will be within one month of successfully being funded.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
