About this project
The intended outcome of this project is to develop a small wind turbine that can be built for cheap, and that can be used with more wind turbines to marginally increase electricity output. Some of the parts in this project are still conceptual and have not been built before. Some of the parts include: A redesigned DC turbine. Modular plastic components, and an Arduino wind turbine controller.
From early estimates we project that the cost to build one turbine (after development) would likely be less than $75, seeing as how all the plastic parts only cost $32.
We will likely be using Autodesk Inventor to make prototypes to print from a Reprap. And we may commission an Arduino to monitor the gears, electronics, and the systems output. We don't know how this is going to take us, but we'd assume it's going to be at the least 3 months.
And finally the big question, what will we be using the funds to pay for? PLA plastic to print Reprap prototypes, metal to machine custom parts, and to pay for rent on our warehouse space.
