Dawn of the Devs is a 2D puzzle platformer where three game industry gurus (Tom Schiffer, Biff Klozinski and Hiro Komiya) embark on an epic quest after they are drawn into the Wicked World of Gaming, an alternate world where every negative aspect of the game industry has come to life thanks to the dark arts of a sinister character.
Together they'll have to combine their unique abilities while they journey through twisted lands, defeating enemies and solving puzzles to rid the World of Gaming from the menace that has risen and threatens to destroy the game industry forever.

In Dawn of the Devs, the player will take control of three emblematic game developers. After arriving to the Wicked World of Gaming, each character has gained incredible abilities, all of them related to the games they've created.
Only by combining their skills, strenght and cleverness, our heroes will overcome all the challenges presented to them in the Wicked World of Gaming. They'll have to fight against hordes of enemies and make powerful allies to finally defeat the menace of the World of Gaming.
- Adventure Game Cursor: Tom's main skill is using an old school adventure game cursor, this allows him to interact with distant items, buttons, switches and levers.
- Adventure Game Inventory: Tom also has an infinite, unlimited and bottomless adventure game inventory. So he'll be able to carry any object from one place to another.
- Blazer Shot: Biff carries a Blazer, the most recognizable weapon of "Bolts of Battle". A deadly gun with a high rate of fire.
- Blazer Saw: Using the Blazer's powerful titanium saw, Biff will be able to cut through planks, vines, cables, chains and ropes.
- Cardboard Box: Komiya-san can use his infiltration abilities hiding in the iconic cardboard box of Steele: Stealth Spy to go through enemies and avoid detection.
- Cardboard Box Knock: By knocking on his cardboard box, Hiro can draw the attention of his enemies, distract them or lure them to hazards and traps.
Dawn of the Devs takes place in a detailed and rich fantasy alternate reality known as the World of Gaming, a hybrid between a fantasy land and the videogame industry.
This world is divided in different lands - each one of them represent a specific area of the game development industry. Game conventions with mindless fanboys, infernal offices where game development is a torturing process and a dumpster where all game bugs and glitches are dumped are some of the locations where the game levels of Dawn of the Devs will take place.
Deep into the woods, the Gameyard is a dark and gritty forest where every failed game, every closed videogame store and every defunct game company lies. This land is ruled by a ruthless and caustic warlock known as The Meta-Critic, whose only goal is to revile and look down on other people's work through his vicious reviews.
Graves and absolete game systems populate this creepy land. Angry trolls, always ready to insult and curse and downvote with their clubs, while wretched Twitbirds throw out offensive comments to anyone within reach.
THE PIRATE HARBOR
The Pirate Harbor is a haven for all Copyrates, a band of rogues and scoundrels that earn profit by illegally acquiring and duplicating content. Their leader is no other than Mick Dotnet, also known as The Mega Pirate, a succesful entrepreneur who has made a fortune thanks to sheltering and protecting the Copyrates.
Copyrates are constantly sieging the Ivory Tower Island, an luxurious building ruled by vicious and merciless Vampublishers, creatures who feed with money and exploit all their prisoner developers.
CONSOLE AND COMPUTER CHURCH
The Console and Computer Church, or C3, is both a sacred temple and a pilgrimage place. Game characters are represented in the stained glass windows of the church walls, and videogames and their creators are revered and worshipped almost as god-like entities.
It isn't an entirely safe place, anyway. Mindless fanboys have become addicted to videogames, and now roam through the C3 with an insatiable appetite for games. Different cults are confronting each other for the one and only truth of videogames, gaining adepts for the Almighty Red, the Omnipotent Green or the Supreme Blue, while the Believers of the Master Race despise them all.
During a popular game event in Los Angeles, three game developers are drawn into a parallel world known as the Wicked World of Gaming. A world that was once not wicked at all, but has become corrupt since the rise of one sinister character, known simply as Chief Evil Overlord (C.E.O.). His power grows with every downside, every drawback and every negative bit of the game industry, and he is rising an army to also end the Earth's game industry.
Only a bunch of heroes can stop the scheme of the Evil Overlord. They are legendary game gurus whose skills in game development have developed into unbelievable powers in the World of Gaming. They'll assume the task of defeating the hordes of evil, and restoring order and peace to the World of Gaming.
We are making this game as a love letter to all those game developers who have given us so many unforgettable moments with their games, from the bottom of our hearts and with the uttermost respect for their figures and background. Many of them have inspired us to get into the game industry; some others have enlightened us to improve every day, while some others are a role model for many game developers. We really wanted to make homage to all these minds behind unique worlds, characters and universes that we have enjoyed in so many unforgettable experiences.
We also wanted to make a game about our industry, a light hearted parody with lots of humour and irony. We've been in this industry for ten years, and we've experience both its joy and its misery, but anway, we still are making games regardless, and hope to still be making them for many years to come. We love our industry and everything that surrounds it, so this game also pays homage to the game development industry.

We are Underdog Studios, an independent game developer founded in 2015 by Alfredo González-Barros and Álvaro González, two game designers from Madrid, Spain.
We both have around 10 years of experience in the game development industry. We've worked in almost every platform: Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, Nintendo DS, PC, Steam, mobile... releasing titles such as War Leaders: Clash of Nations, Planet 51 Online or Young Justice: Legacy

Risks and challenges
Any game development has some implicit risks. During our +10 years of experience, we've faced many challenges, such as delays, budget cuts, layoffs and even canceled projects. We are used to these kind of things (which are quite common in the game industry), and both of us are used to meet deadlines and work efficiently despite all those drawbacks.
