A Wild Success: The Endangered Species Act at 40
On the eve of the Act's 40th anniversary we’ve asked a variety of interesting individuals from around the country to share their perspectives about the importance of wildlife. Some of the individuals are famous. Some are not. But they all share the desire to see wildlife protected. And we want to celebrate that appreciation for wildlife in the Act's 40th year.
Your support will enable us to do a limited print run of books to celebrate forty years of the Endangered Species Act and see it from the perspective of these authors and others.
Authors include: • Ed Begley Jr., actor • Philippe Cousteau, explorer • Kate Spade, designer • Congressman John Dingell, co-sponsor of the Endangered Species Act • Joe Trippi, political consultant • Mary Oliver, poet • Tom Lovejoy, scientist • Russell L. Schweickart, astronaut • Terry Tempest Williams, author • Tom Sachs, sculptor • Waris Ahluwalia, actor • Wendie Malick, actress • Seth Goldman, CEO of Honest Tea • Kim Jordan, founder and CEO of New Belgium Brewery • Senator Sheldon Whitehouse • Executive Directors of Earthjustice, WildEarth Guardians, the Humane Society of the United States, Defenders of Wildlife, Greenpeace, Born Free USA, and many more
