The Dangers of Daggermore is a film that will highlight the pure thrill of adventuring in a dungeon where you battle terrible monsters to obtain fabulous treasures.
The film will be dark, gritty and realistic with a horror film's sensibilities towards special effects, blood, and gore.
This short film is essentially a pilot for a web-series and as such can be made with a creative freedom that emphasizes what is great and scary about playing games like Dungeons and Dragons, Pathfinder, or other RPGs in the fantasy genre.
This film will be fun to make and fun to watch. We've already shot some test footage and if we make our funding goal of $1000 we can cobble something together for people to see.
$3000 - Leveling Up
If we reach $3000, we will be able to increase the levels of the adventurers from first level to 3rd level and wizard will be able to cast more spells, elf will be able to show off some of her innate abilities, and knight will do more damage in the fight scenes.
$5000 - Mighty Magic
If we reach $5000, we will be able to add post effects to the practical effects Joh is providing for the test shoot.
$10,000 - Time Space Continuum
We will be able to shoot the entire script written for the pilot.
$20,000 -- The More the Merrier
We will be able to produce two episodes instead of just one.
$30,000+ -- Atlas Hungers
The Dangers of Daggermore is set in the World of Atlas. This gaming site features tools for solo role-playing. The site itself needs a lot of support since the tools are free and this extra money will go a long way to making them better and easier to use.
The money will also be used to produce more source material for the World. The World of Atlas is vast and has room for many tales to be spun upon it. We appreciate all the help you can give us.
Risks and challenges
Our filmmaking team have all completed feature length films
Hal Burdick - Neptune and Me/Lights Out Rowan
Justin Kuhn - Exploder, I'm That Kind of Woman, Behind Closed Doors
Joh Harp - Bombshell Bloodbath
James Filanowski - Lights Out Rowan/Exploder
The Dangers of Daggermore is a smaller project than any of those films so we feel comfortable being able to complete the film. That said, we are just shooting the pilot so we can put a lot of time and effort into making it really good. We're invested in providing realistic effects, thrilling cinematography, and a tight gripping story so there will be numerous challenges to accomplish these goals.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
