Two bachelors in a bromantic womanizing escapade, co-dependently falling in love... Not with each other.
In the pilot episode, the newly heart-broken Todd and Chester find themselves where they usually are in good times and in bad- together, enjoying their frozen yogurt. Only this time around, they've got to figure out a way to pick up the shattered pieces of their lives.
Todd, in his infinite wisdom, has come up with yet another brilliant idea to get these guys off their feet, off unemployment, and back on their quest for real love: a parking service for the pretty girl patrons of the beach. Not only do they run into the natural hiccups of a newly formed entrepreneurship, but a lot of flack from unexpected visitors!
Join Todd and Chester as they put up their facade and invite you to fall in love.
We filmed the pilot as an entry to a Comedy Central web-series contest in January, hoping we would get a network deal. Unfortunately, we weren't offered a network deal. Now we look to you for help. Help us finish what we started!
For the pilot, we pooled our networks & resources and were able to fund the 3-day shoot on our own. Most of our expenses came in the form of renting equipment and buying food for the cast & crew, who all worked tirelessly for a low budget wage: Copy/Credit/Meal, which is the industry equivalent of pro bono.
Directors Logs Concerning Day 2:
Memorable events of the shoot:
- On the morning of our first shoot day, Randy moved his car around front to save us a spot to set up the camera. He came out to greet the arriving Cast & Crew in his bath robe, only to find that his car had been repossessed!
- On the second day of shooting, one of our actresses, Victoria, came inside the apartment to ask for some change to feed her meter and in the 30 seconds it took to get from her car to some change, the meter maid had written her a ticket!
- We shot and edited the entire episode in the course of a week. On the seventh day, we had to ship 5 copies of the Final DVD + various press material to New York. So the plan was to overnight the package on that Thursday, making note of the last pick-up time in Los Angeles to arrive in New York by 12 noon on Friday. We missed the 4PM and 5PM pick up times, but researched that the FINAL overnight pick-up was at 6:45PM at the LAX FedEx. This video tells the rest. Everything happens for a reason!
Team Pretty Girl Parking aims to film the remaining 5 episodes of season 1. On behalf of the entire Cast & Crew, we all had a great time working with each other and we'd love to do it again!
Thank you for supporting our work!!!
