We are two freelance artists and students of Estonian Art Academy which is located in Tallinn -capital of Estonia. In 2015 we had a lot of projects connected with forests, so from that moment was born an idea called Arbores Playing Cards.
Arbores is a Latin word that means "Tree". There was no difficulty to find the name for the deck, but since it was our first playing card project, at the beginning of the draft, we hadn't good ideas for it.
Our friends Edwin Krys and Ailjay Boitchuk have an experience in this field so, they helped us with making photos and some PS and Ai work.
Now, after 8 months of hard work, we want to represent to you our finished project, which is designed for the playing card lovers, nature lovers and too ltd. playing cards collectors.
The dark green background brings out the silver ornaments on the tuck case. Only some parts of ornaments will be foiled, including text such as "Arbores", Tuck sides, bottom and also some elements like birds. The fine detail of each hand drawn card is reminiscent of a hard working. Arbores will have a print run of 150 or more. Each deck will be numbered and this deck will never be re-printed.These will be a very hard deck to get a hold of. Get a few before there all gone!
The deck quantity depends on backers, but minimum quantity is 150 decks.
Very nice forest design. Printed on 310gsm for an easy and smooth maneuver. Poker quality
Risks and challenges
As with all printing projects their are a number of fine adjustments that need to be made along the way to ensure the highest quality end product.
But by bringing together a team of industry experts in their respective fields we have minimised risk to make the entire experience as streamlined as possible.
Should we run into any problems (touch wood we don't!) you'll be kept up to speed with necessary updates from the team.
Of course problems might happen. We can't control other people actions, but I'll follow every step of the process to avoid problems and I will keep everyone updated.
All the elements shown could be changed and improved. Printed colors could be a little bit different from the ones you see on your screen. Please remember to write your address so we could send you your deck.
