About this project
Friends, fans, supporters, and family.
Since my last release in 2012 - To Reach Your Soul - I've matured as an artist and musician. I've played hundreds of shows, met a lot of great people, and soaked in all the music I could find. I've also gained a better understanding of what it takes to make a cohesive record.
I've decided to record my first FULL-LENGTH ALBUM and I plan to call it "Hard Times, Straight Lines." It will have10 orginal songs (possibly more), that speak on subjects such as life's stuggles, love, and truth.
What's the big deal about a full-length album, you may ask?
Well you can't truly know how big of a deal it is until you hear it, but these songs mean the world to me. This won't just be a few of my tunes on disc, it will be a work of art.
But honestly, I can't do this on my own. Making this album will be a difficult and expensive process and as a college student/musician, I could really use your help!
I can promise you, your hard earned money will not go to waste. If we reach our goal, the money will go towards paying for studio time, mixing, mastering, pressing, duplication, marketing and promotion. In a way you become my record label. You have as big a part in all of this as I do. During the recording of the album, I’ll be publishing video and audio updates on here regularly. I want you guys to be part of this process.
I believe we can do it. Don't be afraid to share this with everyone you know!
Thanks for your love and support.
- Aaron Stephens
PLEASE NOTE: If we don't reach our goal amount, you will NOT be charged and I will not receive any of the pledges.
THANK YOU for supporting Aaron Stephens. Our team looks forward to seeing the smiles on your faces and the tapping of your feet when you hear what Aaron is preparing for you. It will have a little bit of everything and whole lot of soul.

What are people saying about Aaron Stephens?
"Aaron is the real deal. I challenge you to go to a show without getting emotionally attached to his music. The dude's got soul." - Eric Middleton, Midnight River Choir
"Surrounded by Americana and Red Dirt artists, Aaron Stephens definitely stands out among the pack. He's not Red Dirt, and he's certainly not Americana. What is he then? He's one hell of a singer and guitar player! Factor in a gifted songwriter, and you have a new sheriff in town. I predict big things ahead for Stephens, so I suggest you jump on his wagon now before it gets too fast for you to catch.' - Dale Martin, Music Columnist - New Braunfels Herald
"Watching Aaron Stephens live. the easy reference point is Ben Harper - who also plays it smooth with a soufulness bordering on despair at times. But then you hear the Otis Redding and Joe Cocker flourishes, the John Mayer pop-sensibility, often all in the same song. And as you find yourself drifting off into a groove, you wonder why the hell you were searching for reference points at all." - Zach Jennings, Owner - Lone Star Music, Superfly's Lone Star Music Emporium
"Our diverse music community in New Braunfels has representation from just about every genre. Aaron's soulful presence helps round that out nicely. Aaron has cemented himself as a Top 5 on my list. He is definitely one to watch!" - Brian Strickland, Music of New Braunfels
"Aaron Stephens is a gentleman and a holler!" - Kevin Russell, ShinyRibs
"Aaron's music is simply a breath of fresh air. In a day where soul isn't at the forefront of most people's minds, it's beautiful to see a young artist be able to take soul music and help resuscitate the genre with a personal stamp added. I'm just honored and excited to work with a humble, hungry, and super talented guy like him. Young or old, R&B or Americana, everyone can breathe easy in the niche that is Aaron Stephens." - Dillon Hale, RedBird Management
"Aaron, my friend, you are the best! Continue to pursue your dreams. 'We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, therefore, is not an act but a habit.' Aristotle. You will always have my support and all my love. Love you, Mom." - Leslie Stephens
"Aaron, words cannot describe how proud I am of you. You have a tremendous future ahead of you. Remember as you move closer to your own God-given purpose to continue to use 'Your weapon of choice,' Your Voice." - Craig Stephens
"The passion you have for music is inspiring and the songs you write speak to so many people. Your music has grown so much over such a short span of time, and I know that great opportunities are waiting for you in the future." - Sarah Stephens
"To have watched you grow as a musician, an artist, and as a person has been a blessing. Every time I see up on stage, or practicing for hours in your room, or even just hearing you talk about music makes me fall in love with you all over again because when you are engulfed in your music, it is purely you. You pour your heart and soul into everything you do, and I can't wait to see where this road takes you." - Evann Collins
"Your music has power. To heal, to inspire, to draw out smiles, tears, and dance. Excited to take it to the people. Beyond grateful to be part of this process; wherever this takes us, I'm good. I'm already fulfilled, my love for music rejuvenated. Your purity, your passion, your attitude have already shown me more than I'll ever be able to show you. My family and I will be here for you and yours for as long as you'll have us." - Nick Sisoian
Risks and challenges
There's always the possibility of obstacles in any number of the stages of mastering, production, preparation of digital materials, artwork, packaging and merchandise delays. However, fueled by an endless supply of passion and soul, we're ready to take them on.
With recording and mixing scheduled for completion in March, I am confident that we can complete the final touches in April, put together the fully packaged product in May, and have you jamming by summer time.
If things do come up, you can trust that you will be fully updated on a regular basis until ALL of your Rewards - and your expectations - are satisfied.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
