Gruff is a tactical combat card game where players duel to the death with custom teams of Mutated Monster Goats! Gruff features unique positional and timing mechanics that create a constant state of attack and counter-play.
Rage of the Trolls provides the same visceral competitive experience as Gruff and Clash of the Battle Goats, but adds a new dimension to the game, Troll Boss-Fights! The troll is a challenging puzzle that players will take on individually, or with a friend in a co-op mode! Rage is a stand alone Gruff-Compatible game which means that players can take on these trolls using just the contents of this box, or by adding cards from other Gruff games as well!
A Brutal Competitive Game- Rage's combat mechanics create a constant state of counter-play. When an enemy attacks, you have your entire turn to dodge out of the way, mount your defenses, and launch a counterattack before the attack connects!
A Challenging Single Player Game- Each troll is a distinct and very difficult challenge. Only the most tuned decks and the most skilled players will be able to take them down!
An Awesome Co-Op Game- Rage introduces new Co-Op rules that give you more opportunities to collaborate with your friends! Play cards to support your teammate on their turn so that you both can taste the sweetness of victory together!
Rage is a stand-alone game and is the newest Gruff set. Gruff has been honored with with several awards including these!
In Praise of Rage....
"I really love the game a lot, it is right up my ally. I like the customization of it. I like the ability to cater to different strategy styles, and the flavor of the game is both hilarious and awesome! I love it a lot! So, big thumbs up from me and the rest of the Twist group!" -Matt, Twist Gaming
"It’s a testament to how well designed the troll and his cards are. Outsmarted by a card game AI…never thought I’d see the day." -Bobby C., Gamer Assault Weekly
"Gruff improves with each new release, so this is certain to be the best one yet. Essentially, Rage of the Trolls has everything from the original Gruff and more." -Matt Mitchell, PopWrapped
"These mechanics do make for an interesting cooperative experience. Our playtesting team felt challenged and encouraged to really study their shepherds, gruffs, and cards to make sure they were playing with optimal strategies. Its a great feeling to be forced to make adjustments between games like this because the thrill of victory is a great payoff for experimentation." -Stephen Duetzmann, Engaged Family Gaming
"It’s absolutely one of my favorite card battle games of all time." -Rob Kalajian, A Pawn's Perspective
"I enjoy a good solo game, and Gruff: Rage of the Trolls did not disappoint. The only difference between solo and cooperative gameplay is the player count. Even though it was just me against the troll, I still felt as if I was playing against a worthy, real-life opponent, having to outthink and outplay it just as I would a friend playing against me." -Benjamin Kocher, Everything Board Games
"All-in-all I give this game another seal of approval. This game does it wonderfully! If you like cooperative games as well as competitive card games, this game is going to be a nice addition!" -Michael J Wright, Unfiltered Gamer
In Praise of Gruff...
"In every sense, Gruff has been a labor of love for the folks working on it, and you can see it in every monstrous detail of the fun but terrifying art style. Gruff‘s simple concepts allow for both new gamers to have a competitive card game experience, while still giving seasoned players the depth of a full collectible card game."
"What I like most about Gruff is how it speed-injects the feeling of other constructed deck games in its own tight format. I was a big Magic player for a long time, and what I loved most about it was playing big creatures and cool spells. Gruff distills the constructed experience, with the creatures providing the mana and lots of synergies between cards, so that you get a lot of that satisfying feel at a fraction of the time investment."
"A card game stemming from the likes of Magic, but similarities end with the cards. Gruff is a mix up of Cube Draft style, deck building, and Commander mode, and adding in a few mechanics of poker to outplay your enemy, while having a bit of a miniatures feel to it as well."

Risks and challenges
This is Studio Woe's third Kickstarter campaign so a lot of the unknowns that go into making a new product have already been solved. We are using the same manufacturing pipeline as we used on our previous two projects to minimize potential disruption.
We have also allocated a good bit of extra time for our projected ship date so that we have a buffer to protect us from disruptions. With Gruff: Clash of the Battle Goats we were able to ship months early, we anticipate that the same will be true for Gruff: Rage of the Trolls. The estimated delivery of Rage is 8 months after the end of the Kickstarter campaign. If for some cataclysmic reason, Rage can’t be delivered at all, then we will promptly refund your pledge, including fees.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
