About this project
We (Funnomenom) are an up and coming vegan/vegetarian street food concept looking to help spearhead the Detroit to Table movement. We plan to do this by creating a culinary incubator space for start up food concepts such as ourselves.

So...what is a culinary incubator?
A culinary incubator is a shared kitchen space for chefs and food businesses to create. With it being a shared space it keeps rates affordable and helps start-up food businesses continue to grow and reach their goals. Our ideal space would be set up like a restaurant, available for rent with a dining room. This space would be used for pop-up concepts and events. The kitchen would be used to fuel these events as well as serve as a commissary/home base kitchen for local catering businesses, food trucks, etc.
So what is your hard earned money going towards?
Funds donated would go towards helping us rent kitchen/dining space and buy equipment. Every dollar generated will scratch the surface of helping rebuild the Detroit food scene.
This is about creating a healthier and happier Detroit. The city is steadily growing and re-inventing and Detroit is now re-branding itself as an artist and urban farm community. Now is the time to use all that the city is worth in land and cross the line from food desert to urban oasis. We are looking to bring Detroit products, culture and creativity to the forefront. We hope not only to do our best to source Detroit/Michigan products but to be a launch pad for chefs to create and aspiring young cooks to learn hands on.

A healthier individual = A healthier Detroit...
Risks and challenges
This concept is something that is not being done in the city right now. There are several potential challenges and we need the support of local farmers, chefs and food lovers alike. Detroit has been known throughout time as a great industrial city and it would be amazing to continue this legacy of greatness in the realm of food and beverage. This is not only a kitchen, but a culture we're trying to build...Let's create something great together!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
