Two years in the making, Kristin and Melissa have combined their super powers to create a resource for parents and professionals looking to create some "super" fun and "super" helpful tools and toys to help children with sensory processing needs.
This book will contain 30+ projects that range from simple tools that can be assembled in minutes to weekend endeavors where you can invest your time and love in creating something special for your child. The book also includes information about each sensory system and ways to modify the projects to meet individual needs.
Over the past two years, Melissa and Kristin have developed all projects in the book and written and photographed detailed instructions. The content is 99% complete. The final steps will include the layout of the book pages, final editing, and then we hit go on Amazon to self-publish.
Our goal with Kickstarter is to gain additional emotional and financial support to finish this project. That is where YOU come in!
Is your child sensitive to or overwhelmed by different sensory inputs? Do they seek out sensory stimulation throughout the day? Has a therapist or other professional suggested your child would benefit from fidgets, weighted clothing, or other sensory soothing tools? Then this is the book for you.
The projects are especially awesome for DIY-minded folks but more than half are super simple and don't require crafty skills. What a great resource to have to be able to make custom toys for your child!

P.S. if you watched our video--thank you. It was really fun to make but please remember that we're writing a book, not making a movie. Now you know why.
Risks and challenges
We are so close to done but this funding will give us a deadline and the last bit of funding to get us across the finish line.
We plan to self-publish a print version via Amazon and don't forsee any difficulties but we haven't done this before so there may be delays or challenges. We still need to understand/if how we can publish an e-version of the book beyond a pdf file.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
