Composer Bella Barlow & Lyricist A.C. Smith met over a piano. In the past year, we’ve gone from a sold-out cabaret at the Pheasantry, to writing for two-time Olivier Award winner Janie Dee at the Globe Theatre for the London Festival of Cabaret, to being short-listed for the Kevin Spacey Foundation Artists of Choice Awards… to this!
We’re very excited to announce our first Barlow & Smith recording project!
(Because it’s never too early to start thinking about the holidays – particularly if you want to have an EP ready for the festive season!)
We had such a strong response to the songs from our Christmas Cabaret that we really wanted to share these with a wider audience. So this July we’re heading into the Cowshed Studio to fully realise our songs with full band arrangements and top recording talent.
We’re so excited to have our first-ever experience of working in the studio, and to share the songs as they’re truly meant to be heard. But we can’t do it without your help!
We set up this Kickstarter to cover a portion of our costs of making the album, including: studio hire, sound engineer fee, musician & singer fees, professional production, producer fee, mixing, mastering, album design, and instrument hire.
These things don't come cheap, and the more we raise, the more we'll be able to record - and the better this album can be.
We’ve set up rewards to say thank you for your support – but make sure you CHOOSE carefully - due to Kickstarter rules you can only pledge once! (Though you can pledge as much as you like over the reward threshold.)
Thank you so much – and Happy Holidays!!!!
Love, Bella and Alli
Any artistic project is a risk, but we’ve got a great team behind us and we’re really confident we can get this off the ground and realise these songs to a really high standard.
A few of our pledge rewards are dependent on scheduling, so if for any reason we can’t make the dates work we’ll be in touch with you to make sure you feel you’re treated fairly, and we’ll refund your money if we can’t deliver. (But this shouldn’t be an issue – we are women of our word!)
Thank you again for your support!
