Spoonbeaks on Steam Greenlight!
Aaarrr mateys, 'tis talk like a pirate day! And in honour of this fine occasion, I be sharing two juicy bits of scuttlebutt with ye.
Spoonbeaks Ahoy! comes to Steam Greenlight
I released Nelly's first adventure Nelly Cootalot: Spoonbeaks Ahoy! a horrifying nine years ago. In case you don't know, Spoonbeaks Ahoy! is a short, freeware Nelly adventure. However, its non-widescreen graphics mean modern computers have trouble running it.
So in honour of TLAP day, Application Systems Heidelberg and I have decided to bring an HD version of Spoonbeaks Ahoy! to Steam Greenlight. The original artwork was mostly vector graphics, drawn using a mouse (A MOUSE!). This means they can be scaled up with minimal loss of quality:
This is not a 'Special Edition' style remake - we won't be recording voice acting, or re-drawing the artwork extensively. The idea is to keep it simple, keep the game playable and introduce new players to it.
So if you'd like to see Spoonbeaks Ahoy! find a home alongside The Fowl Fleet on Steam, please vote yes now!
Nelly Cootalot: The Fowl Fleet be 40% off on Steam
Secondly, please adopt a nautical brogue* and tell your friends that the world's best pirate point and click adventure (of 2016) is now a lovely 40% off on Steam.
Steam's new review policy means that all the lovely reviews you Kickstarter Backers wrote when we launched are now hidden from view. So any tweeting you can do would be very welcome!
All the best me hearties!
