I do like the sound of Acolyte! :)
If you want to try a different name than Monk you can try one of these names.
Holy Striker, Divine Fist, Saint Fist, Soul Fist, Anointed Fighter, Chi Master, Blessed Fighter, Acolyte, Cenobite, or Sacred Hand.
@Christopher That's always an option too :) Personally I always love monk classes(and the name) but I guess we just wanted to try something different. Though like you said, we already have a Paladin class so it's not a huge deal if we end up calling him a Monk I suppose!
I think going with the cliche "Monk" title might please DnD (and other fantasy game) fans. Much like you have the Paladin class. You dont want to name him Holy Swordsman.
Ya he is a fighter/monk. We're definitely not attached to the name either because as you say it's not quite reflective of what he does(we were actually talking about other possible names while I was typing out the update heh). Certainly open to other ideas :)
While I don't hate the name Grappler, the name makes me think of a pro-wrestler type. Grapplers tend to try to knock someone to the ground and then use a submission hold. This character looks like he focuses on punches which would make him more of a Striker. Strikers typically focus on kicks and punches. He also looks like he could be a Monk since he can meditate to heal.
Ya we didn't want to go and list all the abilities in the first class update as it would have ended up extremely long. Since this was a shorter and more focused update it felt more appropriate to give you a little more insight into his abilities :)
For some unknown reason I like this update's character skill description layout better.
