That's the Paladin, though we've decided to rename her to Guardian. The color scheme was inspired by Leona for sure :)

    2. Seong on November 13

What's the class of orange-haired female class featured in many gameplay videos and photos?

She looks a lot like Leona from League of Legends

@Seong That would depend on the House's leader. They could have further goals than just the initial city and could end up throwing many other regions into conflict in pursuit of more power/control. Or they could be content and peaceful and bring stabilization to the region. Your reputation would change for helping a House out, depending on the way it was done. If it was a stealthy assassination then likely the only person to know would be your ally. If it was through other means then your reputation would shift based on other Houses relationship with the House you overthrew, the new House replacing them, and whether or not the action you did was warranted(did the House have a legitimate claim or did you essentially help them steal the crown).

@Douglas What Sinistar said, the code should have been at the end of the survey, but you can find it in the Downloads section of your BackerKit profile :)

    6. Sinistar on October 20

If you received your BackerKit survey it will be where you fill out your questions, if you need to make an add-on to get the discord, it is also after the questionnaire.

It should have at the end 'downloads' and a section that gives you the link to access the Discord.

    7. Sinistar on October 20

Discord invites have been sent out about 3 weeks ago. I'd check your spam folder and put in 'survey' as a key word, or the iron oath.

When are the Discord invites being sent out? I received my backerkit survey and it shows I should have the invite, but despite searching I've yet to see it. Might've gone to spam, in which case it's long gone.

    9. Seong on October 19

Let's say I succeeded in bringing a certain house/royal to power of a city. How much would this impact the game's world? I assume it's no question for the city, but what about other cities? Would royals and houses in other cities be aware of your actions and treat you differently?

"Survey answered and pledge increased! Hopefully I did that right, never had to change pledge via BackerKit."

Did you need to increase your pledge for anything such as the discord or private flag for your guild in-game? I haven't had to interact all that much with BackerKit myself in the years of going in and out of Kickstarter with my forgotten main account - but it sounds like you submitted your Survey and then paid for an additional tier, such as to get access to the discord or private flag.

If that is indeed what you were aiming for, then you did it and you should receive your goods upon when they're released, as for the discord it's up and running and you're eligible able to join immediately. I just hope you didn't accidentally pledge any additional money for something you may have already had packaged in your tier depending on if you spent a minimum of 50$ or not.

But then again it also sounds like you wanted to upgrade your tier altogether to something else so regardless as long as everything is okay and looks to be how you wanted it.. and you didn't pay for something twice, you're all set.

@Christopher On the lefthand side of Discord(either the app or on the website) is where your server list is located. Click on the circle with a + in it, then click Join a Server, then paste the invite link into there :)

Thank you but where do I input the 7 digit code into the Discord website? I dont have the app, but I did create an account and I am using their website.

    18. Curious Panda 3-time creator on October 4

@Seong A number of missions will have a boss fight at some point. As for re-trying, it depends on what the mission is, sometimes you'll be able to try again(and basically restart the mission), but a lot of the time the mission will disappear and you'll have to deal with the consequences of your failure. The mission can also change if you fail, maybe the boss gets away and you have to wait to get word of his next location, or maybe your members want to get revenge for the deaths of their friends.

      2. Yes absolutely, as Sinistar mentioned there was a recent update that covered it(Overworld Simulation). Quite a few of the missions available to you will be dealing with House conflicts, or will be generated as a result of the conflicts.

@Christopher There is a Downloads section in your BackerKit profile when you go to The Iron Oath. This is where all of the rewards will be found as they are made available. For now it contains the Welcome Pack and the Discord invite for those who are eligible for it. The beta keys will be sent in October 2018 if everything goes to plan.

    19. Sinistar on October 4

@Seong and with the houses as far as I am aware of (unofficially) you will be able to interact with the 'factions' to a degree. It is very ambitious, I think it's covered on the second to last update (23). I haven't had time to re-read everything there, but it certainly covers the overworld and interactions with houses from my recollection. If you have read it and the answers isn't satisfactory, I can ping nick and chris from the discord and let them know if you haven't gotten access to it.

    20. Sinistar on October 4

@Seong I think the trailer hints at bosses with "will you use your powerful spirit based abilities on a cluster of weak enemies? or preserve this for 'hidden enemies at the next corner.' sounds much like bosses will most certainly be mechanically involved one way or another during fights.
@Christopher Senn beta keys won't be until October of next year and Discord is for those whom backed at a certain pledge tier, if you happened to get a discord code and unaware of what it is, think of it like steam or skype where players can communicate except it's group based.

    21. Missing avatar

      Christopher Senn on October 4

Question. How and when will the beta keys be delivered. No idea what Discord is used for or how to use the Discord code that was sent out.

    22. Seong on October 3

      1. This may be an obvious question, but would there be any bosses? If there are any, If the party dies at the boss does the player have to restart the level from the start or can they access the boss battle right away after re-forming the party again?

      2. You mentioned there will be Royal and faction houses. Will there be quests dealing with power struggles and house wars?

Quick question to the devs. I was thinking about using 2 names in the credits, my Stteam username and my GOG username (an alias, if you will). Is it possible? Or am I asking for too much here?

      Any update with the surveys?

    29. Curious Panda 3-time creator on September 23

Just a quick update on the surveys. We didn't recieve our KS funds on Thu or Fri, hopefully will get them by Mon/Tue then we can pay our backerkit fee. So the survey should be coming this week

    30. Curious Panda 3-time creator on September 22

Probably around 30hours? Even if you attempted to burn through main story, its difficulty would ramp up and would still require you to take on some side missions for xp and gear. It's definitely not the main focus of the game though, and there will be some longer side-stories that people may even enjoy more than the main one.

    31. Phill on September 21

With all these little things, How long do you intend a run through the story to take? Not counting all the amazing side stuff that sounds like it could get me distracted easily in making my own stories.

    32. Curious Panda 3-time creator on September 21

      Thank you Phill! :)

Just fyi to anyone wondering, the BackerKit store is ready to go but we're just waiting on getting one last question answered before we launch it. Hopefully today! 41. Ryan Bassil on September 14

      @Curious Panda
Cool. I don't know much about how to make games ACCESSIBLE to modding, more about how to actually mod. So if it's actually a fair bit of work on top and not something you can do during development then fair enough, I just thought it was more along the lines of setting a destination folder as a point for the game to utilise extra information/art/etc, so people didn't have to hack through your code to figure out how to add things on.
Meh, like I said, I only know how to mod, not how to make a game accessible to it.

    42. Curious Panda 3-time creator on September 13

@Ryan We might revisit it again after release and see how much work it will be, but things like the other classes being implemented would take priority over that.

    43. Sinistar on September 13

They've stated beneath at some point in the update or comment section that there's no plans to enable modding for the community. It's just too much work on top of what they already have set out to accomplish.

    44. Ryan Bassil on September 13

Just curious, how friendly are you guys going to make this game to the modding community? I'm sure it'll be awesome enough honestly, but like there'll always be people wanting to change (and will always find a way regardless) minor (or major) aspects such as stats, chances, injuries, etc; and additions such as weapons, armour, abilities, sprites, classes, injuries, buffs, etc.

    48. Curious Panda 3-time creator on September 11

The core of the way dungeon crawling works is inspired by Darkest Dungeon for sure. Things like interacting with objects that have the possibility for both positive and negative outcomes, preserving your resources, camping, and just the general way that the missions/dungeons are structured.

Combat is obviously a bit different with the tactical grid being involved, and it's not in our plans to make it as punishing as DD. We still want it to be challenge obviously, and you will likely lose the occasional character, but in general we want proper planning to persevere over unfortunate RNG.

We're also not forcing iron-man mode(though it will be an option when starting the game), and a player will be able to load an old save to avoid the death of a character or to change a decision they've made. Because of that I feel it should be suitable for both the hardcore and non-hardcore crowd.

    49. Seong on September 11

So after reading more the game's features, it looks like this game will be very similar to Darkest Dungeon.

      1. If I hated/loved Darkest Dungeon, convince me, a person who just learned about this game, would want to play this game.

      2. If this game aims to be difficult, does that mean accessibility will only be limited to hardcore gamers? What about casual gamers?
