Hey cool world. Our names are Soren Olsen, Noelle Johnson, and Braden Torras and we are Dungeness. We're an Indie-folktronica trio from the Pacific Northwest. We have a deep passion for fusing the worlds of folk and electronic music. We're all in our 20's, starving artists with day jobs, who believe that the world would be a better place if we were living our passion.
We're close to the earth. We love art. We're hopelessly optimistic. And we have a hunger for creating music we haven't heard yet.
This summer has presented us with a time-limited and unique opportunity to work with a very talented director who just so happens to love our music. His name is Brandon Eckhardt, and he's got game. (We'll give you a hint: He may or may not have done the video for this kickstarted campaign...he did) Check out his other work: www.brandoneckhardt.com
And here's the first video he did for us:
We're getting a deal on a professional video if we can raise the funds and shoot the video before the end of September 2014, hence this campaign. Due to the nature of our day-jobs, we're unable to fund it with our own finances, so we're reaching out to our community and the broader musical community to enable us to create a beautiful, cinematically stunning music video for pre-release of our first EP!(anticipated fall 2014).
You guys, this video is going to be beautiful and we're very excited about the opportunity. Please help us make this a reality! You won't be sorry ;)
Risks and challenges
Our primary obstacles are distance, time, and gear. While Noelle and Braden live in the middle of the Olympic Peninsula, Soren resides and works in Seattle. So we're basically pulling a postal service...but with funding from this kickstarted campaign, we'll be able to transport Soren, Noelle, Braden, Brandon, and the crew back and forth between Seattle and the Olympic Peninsula.
Any other obstacles arise from a lack of funding for this project in general. Our costs include:
-Camera gear and rigging rentals
-Transportation costs for cast and crew (Gas, Ferry, turtles)
-Craft Services (sandwiches and granola during shooting...)
-And of course the cost of our reward products are built into the project :) (T-shirts, posters, original art design, cd production, Vimeo hosting account, international postage, etc...)
We're wildly excited about this opportunity folks. If you all help us to make this a reality, you'll be getting more than the completely rad rewards to the right, there. You'll be helping to make our dreams come true, and in so doing, you'll be making the world a better place. I know that sounds super cheesy, but it really is true. Just ask Tony Robbins. Don't ask him in person though because he'll eat you whole, bones and all. That man has a very large mouth.
Soren, Noelle, and Braden.
