A tactical TBS, emphasizing on the players' strategic skill and insight
Ten Aces combines strategic elements from games like Warhammer, Fire Emblem and Disgaea,deep and intriguing characters like the ones in the Final Fantasy series, and a story from an awesome D&D campaign. We have tried our best to combine elements from the games we love, creating a whole new game. This is a game for those who like to challenge themselves, and win because of their skill, and not their luck.

We need your help to achieve all those goals. We have many ideas that can support this game for years. Guilds, equipment, tournaments and regularly updated content are just a few of them.
Beyond the stretch goals, all income will be used to accelerate the production and improve quality.
Ten Aces is for players who like to challenge themselves and win thanks to their skill, not their luck. Based on that, any kind of random events were excluded from the game. But in a game where strategy is everything, players must always fight in equal terms. And thus, a point based system was developed guaranteeing that all battles will be balanced. Also stats had to be simple so that players may calculate the outcomes with ease. And last but not least the abilities were added. The abilities is what adds an incredible depth to our game.
While a unit may have a bunch of abilities raising its point cost, another may have only a few, or even none. But you have to remember, that the enemy doesn't know what you have until you have used it. So what is more effective? Having a bunch of abilities that are rarely used, or not having them and making the opponent think you got them?

The Multiplayer will be available for everyone for FREE. Players will purchase their characters with in-game currency.
Each Campaign (Single Player) will be available separately for real currency. Of course packages for many characters with discounts will be available too.
You may find our selling system odd, but for our kind of game it has many of benefits.
- All players will be equal in the multiplayer
- Player may purchase as many campaigns they want and whichever they want
- There will be regularly updated content, easy to access
- This system allows us to understand better the needs of the players
Remember that we will be including Permadeath in the Single Player campaigns, for you AND the enemies! Combined with our event driven story each playthrough will be unique. Will you kill all your enemies? Maybe someone will come to avenge them. Will you give them a chance to redeem themselves? You could regret it... EVERY choice matters!
Keep in mind that there is no right or wrong. Your only weapons are your strategy and insight. Can you read your opponent? Can you make him think you are losing? No unbalanced battles, no chances, no excuses!
Now the story is actually originated from a series of campaigns we had in D&D. Through the years the characters were developed a lot and they became extremely interesting and unique. The Ten Aces were the "protagonists" of those campaigns. But of course there are literally dozens of other characters that surround them, who are just as interesting as the Aces. These characters will be introduced as the Elites later in the game. And maybe later on you will see some more leaders that are not Aces...

We are planning on having a wide variety of themes, at least one for each Ace! Here is some work in progress:
We wanted the graphics and the artwork of the game to be original. We are using realistic design and colors, in order to give the game a more mature and serious look, matching its gameplay and audience. And along with this design we have imported a modern style of pixel art, reminding of the old tactical games. The result is quite appealing and most importantly unique, just like the rest of the game. Of course we will do our best to further improve the quality of our graphics, but without altering the graphic style.
Our team was formed a year ago during a game idea competition. Since then we have learned a lot, we took place in many competitions, and now we are ready to complete this game. The team name was decided early on based on the profile of our games : Traptics (traps + tactics)This is our dream team:
We are hoping to complete the Single player within 2013 including the campaigns of the Ten Aces. Once this is released we will update regularly with additional campaigns, new characters, new modes and many more. We are planning to engage the community as much as possible. This is what we have achieved untill now :

Right now we are in need of some more professionals to help us complete this project the fastest possible. A musician and possibly an additional artist will help us greatly. Also a lot of playtesting and balancing is needed, and we hope that you guys will help us with it. Furthermore we can't predict what problems will the additional modes, units and abilities might cause but we will do our best to resolve them. No matter what obstacle we will run into we are determined to overcome it and prevail. You guys are a part of this project, and we hope that we will have your support when we will come to such problems.
Graphics right now are at a very early stage. We need the funding to hire a few proffesionals. The final ones will be much more appealing and the animations will be fluid and impressive
What you see in the demo and the videos is only a part of our plans. The gameplay won't change drastically (specially the non-chance thing), but a lot more will be implemented and the game will be much more intresting. Also the campaigns will be very unique on their design, and we promise they will be very engaging as well.
