      So it's been almost a year since your last update when you indicated you'd be working on getting stuff ported to Unreal 4 in order to make the Mac version. Any updates on that? Mac owner here who's been patiently waiting ...

      I'm glad I was able to support this project. I'm hoping, however, that if this is enough of a commercial success to support porting to the Mac platform. It would be great to actually play it.

      @Frodo - Yes! We are on the Humble store! We are putting together a Kickstarter update about it, including info about distributing keys for backers. :)

      @Larry Yes, I know about that oil. But I think it is not really adventure-like. I will explore the night/dream sequenzes as well as the daylight, but I cannot. That's sad ... I have a rushed feeling.

      @Diana You can't die. Simply, if you stand still then the black oil stuff will return you to the real world. Once there, you can right click to get out of bed before going back to sleep. It's extremely useful if you forgot to do something (specifically light switch related).

      I do not like the game.
      You can die at several times at night.
      This kind of adventure is not my thing!
      I am very disappointed!

      @John GT - When we finalize the other distributor(s), we will reach out to all the backers to see who wants a new key (like a GOG key).

      Regardless of the fact that I don't like DRM, I don't like Steam. And nowadays there are alternatives that I do like much more. Time is not a factor; when you have a GOG or Humble version ready, will I need to specifically ask for it (like a GOG key)?

      for those that dont like drm the steam version does not have any(alot of steam games dont but pepole seam to miss this)
      after its installed you never need steam to run it. go to its folder and creat a short cut on your desktop to its start file.
      now when you clik that the game runs even if your not loged into steam.
      you can even remove steam its self and still be able to run the game

      Hello! Loving the game so far. I have found something I believe to be a bug, or at least an inconsistency. It may also be something of a spoiler for some. What is the best way for me to let you know without letting the whole world know? :D Thanks and keep up the good work!

      Hi @Aureliano Fazio Baiz - We have had a play-able alpha for over a year now, and the latest version (released a few weeks ago) has about 85% of the game in it. You are welcome to play it! Let me know if you want a Steam key, we would love to get your feedback. Please check over on the Updates tab if you want more info.

      @Hoggel - Awesome! We are still working on the next Alpha. My guess would be sometime in the next month, but not sure yet. It is a balance between wanting to get it out soon, and having it as complete as possible to get the best possible feedback!

      @Russell Deitch – ya, we usually do an update post about every month or so, sometimes a little more often. We have been working on a few things lately that we haven't been ready to post about yet, but hopefully will be ready soon. And as @Ingo Gunther pointed out (thanks @Ingo Gunther!), we did just post an updated Alpha yesterday for the testers to test; in addition to having fixed some of the performance issues, we also added a new hint in it that we hope will help those struggling with one of the puzzles. :)

      It fixed most of the spots that caused performance issues.

      Thanks @ObscurePublishing! While I don't see Homesick turning into a series in the normal sense, we might possibly do another game set in a different location in the same world, if it makes sense for the story we want to tell. We are huge fans of atmospheric exploration / puzzle games and, assuming we are successful enough with Homesick, we really want to specialize in this kind of game. We want to deliver a hopefully very unique and moving experience with each one, and I think the next game at least will have it's own unique fiction, but we may return to the Homesick world at some point!

      @Alexander K - We were surprised by the news regarding Facebook and Oculus Rift. We want Homesick to be great on all of the VR headsets that are coming out. Even before this recent news, we have been thinking about supporting Valve's Application Programming Interface (API) that they are working on, to support all VR headsets, including the Oculus. We promised our backers we would support the Oculus, and we are still committed to fulfilling that promise.

      @Mark R. - Good question, we plan to distribute it through more places than just Steam, like GOG and the Humble Store and maybe more, we're not sure which other ones yet though, or if the release date will be the same for all of them. Also while it seems like a lot of people think Steam = DRM, we plan on not using Steam's DRM option, so while someone would need to use Steam to get a Steam copy, the game can be launched directly without having Steam running. Our alpha is like this currently. Rest assured though if you or any other backers don't want to have to install Steam and you don't like the other options we can get you the game directly, at some point shortly before release we'll run a survey asking how people want to get it (steam key etc.). Thanks!

      On the FAQ:

      How can people buy the game once its finished?

      The game will be for sale as a download directly on our company site, indie game portals, and hopefully Steam (if we get greenlit). All donors will receive a free copy -- either through Steam (if we get greenlit) or a direct copy.

      But your site now only mentions Steam. By 'direct copy' I understood that to be DRM-free. Will backers still be able to get that 'direct copy'?
