The film Overture is a micro-budget indie that takes place in the late 1960s around the time of the Woodstock Music Festival and the Apollo 11 Moon Landing.
The film is written and directed by Kyle Doohan and produced by Sara Ataiiyan. The two brothers are played by Jimmy Gagarin (Pete) and Matlock Zumsteg (Tom). The father (John) is played by Karl Mossberger. This is a film fully rooted in the natural beauty of Northern California. Though the heart of our production has taken place in Sonoma County, we have also filmed parts of our movie in Armstrong Woods, Berkeley, Big Sur, Bodega, Carmel, Cazadero, Jenner, Marin, Point Reyes, San Fransisco and Sea Ranch.
At this time, we have completed nearly all of the film's principal photography except for a few final scenes. We are trying to raise a bit more money to finish shooting the film and to begin post-production.
Our post-production process will also incur costs, and any money you can donate to the production will be tremendously valuable to us. We have to pay musicians and rent a studio space to record music for the score to Overture. We also have to rent a boat for a scene and drive the 4 hours down Highway 1 to shoot for a weekend along the spectacular Big Sur coast!
We are tremendously grateful for anything you can give to help us out with this ambitious project and as a show of our thanks, we have created rewards to give you for various levels of contribution.
