About this project
We want to finish the artwork on issues 4 and 5 of our comic series and get these first 5 issues printed!
Issues 1-3 are completely finished, with issues 4 and 5 nearly done. We just need an extra little nudge to cover printing expenses and to make sure our paid artists are earning what they deserve for the outstanding work they've provided!
So, what is Warlords of Wor, anyway?
I'm glad you asked! Warlords of Wor is a line of handmade, designer action toys from ManOrMonster? Studios. The look of the line harkens back to the muscular, barbarian-themed toys of the 80's like Masters of the Universe or Lost World of the Warlord, but the articulation and playability of the line far surpass its influence… and any other self-produced designer toy on the market. Featuring 10 points of powerful magnetic articulation, each Warlords of Wor action figure is fully posable and fully interchangeable. You can mix and match parts from each figure to make exciting new variants of your favorite heroes and villains, or create an all-new character to star in your own adventures!
That sounds awesome! But what does it have to do with comics?!
In addition to making Warlords of Wor action figures, I've also been producing a line of comics to tell exciting stories about these characters, to push the limits of independent toy making, and to enrich the overall Warlords of Wor experience. Each comic is an action-packed, 8-page adventure that introduces readers to the heroes and villains of Wor in fun and fast-paced stories that are appropriate for readers of any age.
Each mini comic measures approximately 4" x 6" and will be printed on durable, high-quality paper in beautiful full color. The books will be a total of 16 pages each, with each one containing an exciting 8-page comic adventure, as well as other fun surprises like vintage style ads and activity pages!
Neat! So what's the story about?
Warlords of Wor is a blend of fantasy and science fiction, not unlike Masters of the Universe or Star Wars, that is set in a post-apocalyptic landscape where time and space have been compromised by a devastating cosmic event. At the heart of this wild and unpredictable world lies the City of Wor, an enormous metropolis that is protected from outside threats by a small group of powerful heroes known as the Warlords of Wor. It's a world without rules our boundaries where absolutely anything can happen. As much Thundarr the Barbarian as it is Blade Runner, each issue of Warlords of Wor is a genre-bending thrill ride that draws influence from every corner of pop culture and strives to inject the maximum dose of fun into every page.
Every issue of the Warlords of Wor mini comic has a different tone; a unique genre mashup that highlights elements of the characters featured in that book. So I wanted each comic to be illustrated by a different artist or art team whose visual style fit that story, and whose outstanding storytelling talent would make every issue look drop dead gorgeous.

Here's the fun part! We're hard at work to bring you some fun and unique incentives for backing Warlords of Wor: The Mini Comics. In addition to the digital and print copies of the books, you have the chance to score stickers, tee shirts, old school metal lunch boxes (!), exclusive action figures, and tons of other great opportunities! Here's a look at some of the amazing rewards we have lined up:
Maw was created by Chris Faccone for Savage Conquest and sculpted by Charles Marsh, aka Monsterforge. The toy is produced by ManOrMonster? Studios and appears here in an exclusive paint variant inspired by popular Warlords of Wor villain Bog-Nar, The Mutant Muck Menace!
Want to have an action figure made with your likeness? We can do that! Artist and digital sculptor extraordinaire Tyler Ham of HamFX, who has worked for ILM, Dreamworks, and Disney, will sculpt a digital model of your marvelous mugshot which will then be 3D printed and given a body made of pieces from the expansive ManOrMonster? Studios parts library! And, as a little cherry on top, your new character will appear in a future issue of Warlords of Wor!
Check out the rest of the list on the right for all our other great rewards!

Thanks for taking the time to check out Warlords of Wor: The Mini Comics. It's because of the fans we've made it this far... we simply could not do it without you! I love Warlords of Wor, and to see it grow and connect with people is such an indescribable pleasure... a pleasure I hope to pay forward with each and every comic and toy we put out.
Every dollar pledged will go towards the printing cost of the books, creating other reward incentives, paying our hardworking artists, and shipping everything to you, our amazing backers. But the story doesn't end with issue 5! All funds raised above and beyond our initial goal will be used to fund the remaining 3 issues in Series 1 of our mini comic adventures, and will appear in the form of Stretch Goals as the project grows.

Risks and challenges
Stuff happens. We all know that. But preparedness is the enemy of surprise. I think someone said that once. If not, I'm calling dibs. Anyway…
I'm doing everything I can to make sure any potential hiccups have a contingency plan already in place, and I've got a mean head start on the rewards. The really heavy lifting, the majority of the artwork for all rewards, is already finished. I'm working with paid comic professionals to complete these comics on time, and trusted printers with a solid history of quick, efficient product turnaround. I've been working on toy rewards for weeks before the launch of this project to ensure timely delivery. And as a small business owner, I also understand the finer points of shipping and receiving. With these skills and resources I'm confident that I can overcome any potential mishaps and deliver all rewards within their projected time frame.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
