Further adventures of harboiled lesbian Private Eye Butch Fatale.
UPDATE: STRETCH GOAL
Thanks to you, my project has been fully funded. Of course, I'm not stopping here. Like any old-school pulp writer, I plan to keep on cranking out the sexy, two-fisted, hardboiled action. So for every additional 4K I raise, I'll write another Butch Fatale caper. It's up to you how many more you want to read.
Book 3 in the series will be called MY TONGUE IS QUICK, and features Butch mixed up with a foxy femme con artist. Book 4 is as of yet untitled, but I'll have more details to post about it when we hit the goal for book 3.
And once I get books 3 and 4 under my belt, I'll produce a second Ace Double style edition.
So thanks again for being part of this amazing process. Keep spreading the (dirty) word!
WHO IS BUTCH FATALE?
Butch Fatale is a fast-talking, skirt-chasing, two-fisted lesbian private investigator with an insatiable appetite for two things — women and trouble.
Desperate Tempest turns to Butch for help exonerating her wrongly imprisoned twin. The resulting big game hunt will have our hero dodging bullets and seducing witnesses all across the urban jungle of Los Angeles. Will Butch get to the bottom of this plus-sized mystery or will she wind up squashed like a bug?
PRAISE FOR BUTCH FATALE
"...as funny, tough and sharp as the PIs of the golden era." - Spinetingler Magazine
"... a clever, horny and affectionate send-up, as well as a straight up pure pulp tale of one of the most kickass and randy gumshoes ... " Thrilling Detective
"Faust's main character is what a small-town butch like myself aspires to be: confident, cocky, masculine, and sensitive all in one package." - Velvetpark.com
"Dirty, disgraceful and dangerously dark - this is not a book to lend to your mother. Unless you're my kid..." Val McDermid, author of The Retribution
I was told many times that the Butch Fatale series would never sell because the protagonist isn’t what would be considered “hot” to mainstream readers. That if I wanted to sell the series “outside of San Francisco” I should rethink it to make the protagonist more feminine. Because, you know, two hot girls making out is, well, hot, but who wants to read about some big, mannish dyke getting laid a lot?
Apparently, you do.
With your help, I’ll be able to make my long time dream a reality. The Butch Fatale series sat in a drawer for years until this kind of DIY indy publishing became a realistic option. Now I can write about whatever I think is hot and not have to worry about appealing to the common denominator. I can create a sympathetic and sexy queer hero in a genre where most LGBT characters are either villains or stereotypes.
I want to turn lesbian readers on to hardboiled pulp and I want to get hardboiled pulp enthusiasts to identify with a lesbian protagonist. I want to mix it up and make people think, entertaining the hell out of them along the way.
I published the first Butch Fatale novel as an e-book, just to gauge interest and see if it could find an audience despite the naysayers who told me it was a waste of time. I did it all on my own, paid for out of my own pocket, and was pleasantly surprised by all the glowing reviews and positive feedback. Now that I see I’m not the only one who thinks these are stories worth telling, I’d love to continue the series.
That’s where you come in.
Your donation will not only help me write the next book in the Butch Fatale series, it also allows me to publish a special Ace Double style print edition of both books for those without e-readers or who just prefer old-school paper.
So thank you all for your generous support, for believing in this project and for giving the collective finger to those who said nobody wants to read about a butch private eye.

While they won't be back-to-back like the paper edition, yes! If you pledge 25, you get everything offered at the previous levels too. That means that you'll get the e-book versions of both books, plus the extra cut scene and the art print. You can also opt out any item you don't want. Say you want the ebooks but not the art print. No problem! I'll be contacting all the backers individually if/once the project is funded and we can nail down the deets then.
