Hey, slimes and filaments! Shelby Cragg and Taz Muir are raising funds for a print run of Apothecia, a webcomic about a girl called Jessie and her alien problem.
APOTHECIA is a fifty-page original comic with art by 2014 Society of Illustrators Student Award-winner Shelby Cragg and writing by 2012 Shirley Jackson award-nominated horror writer Taz Muir. Though they have worked before on a number of fan-written projects, this is their first published original work. Apothecia is a science-fiction horror comic set in North Carolina featuring a girl called Jessie and her enormous responsibility -- a hideous spore alien who isn’t just a threat to her, but to her whole existence.
APOTHECIA is currently being posted serially and can be read online for free three times a week right here!
The ultimate goal of this project is to raise $3,000 USD to fund a softcover print run of the comic in its entirety, as well as providing a DRM-free PDF so you can enjoy Apothecia on your computer or e-reader!
Special donation tiers will also include stickers, exclusive never-before-seen prints, a wallpaper by Amber Rogers, the chance to get a custom commission by Shelby or a one-on-one story critique and industry recommendation by Taz, and at the highest tier a chance to get included as a cameo! All donations come with our THANKS UNDYING, SPINE FRIENDS.
Thanks to all of you wonderful fans, APOTHECIA has reached 100% funding in less than a week! This means you guys will definitely be getting the beautiful full color paperback copy of the book!
However, our campaign is not over! If we make it to $6,000, we can dramatically lower the cover cost of the books, print almost 5 times as many copies, and bring you even more awesome content. Please keep spreading the word!
Also, as a thank you for reaching our goal, the TAZ PACK and the SHELBY PACK have each been discounted by 50 dollars! Wow!

Risks and challenges
Both Shelby and Taz are industry professionals with experience fulfilling deadlines, meeting project requirements, and making awesome stuff! Last year, Shelby funded her first Kickstarter campaign to great success with The Art of Shelby Cragg, Volume One, and learned a lot in the process.
The material for the book is well on track to being completed. The story is written and right now it is simply a matter of putting in the hours to get this thing printed! Of course, delays and difficulties are the bread and butter of any large scale printing project, but with our experience in this area we should be able to solve any fulfillment problems!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
