About this project
Detective Hank Flynn returns for another case that will lead him into the darkest corners of Lovecraft’s most cursed city—Arkham, Massachusetts. When an old friend shows up at Flynn’s office waving a gun and rambling about “the Abyss of the Shoggoths,” the detective is pulled into a case of love, revenge, and an elite family's generational feud—one which just so happens to involve a cult that has interbred with the spawn of a Sumerian God.
NOTE: Although this is the second book in the Casefile: ARKHAM series, each graphic novel is an individual stand-alone story following detective Hank Flynn. While reading the previous volume, "Nightmare On the Canvas" does make for an immersive experience, it is not required to enjoy this book.
This Kickstarter is to raise the funds necessary to produce "Her Blood Runs Cold",pay the printing and shipping costs, and cover the cost of incentives. We will send monthly updates on the progress as well as show pages as they are being worked on. We will be in constant contact with the backers so you will all know exactly where we are in production at all times, and the team is on hand both on Kickstarter and social media to talk about and answer questions.
Praise & Acclaim
"I can’t say enough good things about this book. The story is good, the characters are deep and realistic and the art is beautiful. Casefile: Arkham is a work of art and a good example of how art and great storytelling can be combined to make the perfect graphic novel." – HorrorAddicts.net
"This is the good stuff, folks. Fans of Lovecraft will love this. Fans of tough PI mysteries will love this. Fans of both, like me, will go crazy for it." –Hellnotes
"..this book is a tonal achievement the likes of which is staggering, especially when you consider the elegant simplicity and relative ease with which creators Josh Finny and Patrick McEvoy find the overlap between the dark, rain-soaked alleys of Noir and the darker, blood-streaked monoliths of Lovecraft." – Joup Magazine
"The usage of Lovecratian monsters/ghouls is neither underplayed nor overplayed. They’re given fantastic build-up that when the big climax happens it’s extra effective. In a story like this, a careful balance between showing and not showing them is the goal, and it’s certainly achieved." – UnleashTheFanboy.com
"One of the top 10 books I’ve read for 2015." – Cory Strode, Kray Z Comics and Stories
"An enthralling visual experience that incorporates several elements of the Lovecraft story and evolves into its own fascinating tale of noir macabre." – Fanbase Press
"Casefile: Arkham blends the best of old school noir with mind-bending horror. It’s the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup effect. Two great tastes that taste great together. If that doesn’t peak your interest, I don’t know what will." – HorrorTalk

ABOUT THE CREATORS
JOSH I. FINNEY - Author and occasional artist, Josh I. Finney is the mind behind the award winning graphic novels World War Kaiju, Titanium Rain, and Utopiates. Most recently his story, “Death Wore Greasepaint” appeared in the H.P. Lovecraft-inspired anthology, Whispers from the Abyss. He is known for penning stories that are heavy on action, yet always reach deep into heady subjects involving science, politics, and philosophy. In another life, he was an illustrator for DC’s Batman/Catwoman.
- Patrick McEvoy is one of your favorite artists. Seriously. You just didn’t know it. You may not recognize his name, but you know his art. McEvoy has spent the better part of a decade illustrating some of the most loved and memorable art to come out of the H.P. Lovecraft mythos. Card games, novels, posters, t-shirts—you’ve seen and probably own at least one piece of McEvoy’s art. He’s best known for his work on Arkham Horror, Call of Cthulhu, and oh yeah…a little known title called Game of Thrones. He's currently providing interior art and covers for "Lost in Space: the Lost Episodes".
Risks and challenges
There are three potential delays that could occur with the delivery of Casefile: ARKHAM.
1) If this campaign achieves some of the higher incentive benchmarks, the book's length will be increased. If this happens, naturally the book will take longer to produce.
2) Possible shipping delays due to political climates and customs.
3) Unforeseen tragedies like family emergencies, illness, etc.
We always strive to keep our backers informed of the progress of the book and if there are delays. Backers are encouraged to contact us if they have any questions or concerns.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
