Here's some updated progress on the soon to be Proof of Concept shot. Hair and cloth are being roughed in, following this I will do a final clean up pass and then begin on the shadow models. Keep an eye out for more updates soon.
I know it's been a bit of a snails pace getting updates out here. I'm still working on a Proof Of Concept shot which as you can see below, the father is animated the the son still needs about 4 more drawings. Once that's in I'll add the clothing, and then I can get rolling on the rendering.
As you saw in my previous update there were two video game releases I worked on through Powerhouse. Banner Saga is still in production, which has been taking much of my time, as well as the holidays which being that I visit my family who live in Michigan, also takes a lot of time to prep and execute. Thankfully however I'm still in the swing of things and inching along on this film. Stay tuned for more updates!
Attached is the digital progress I have made on the shot. You can see I tweaked the father's animation considerably and Emilio's only a little bit. They are nude at the moment as I will add the cloth separately. After these are in I can fill and do my shadow map passes in flash which will export directly into After Effects for the final composite.
I still have to inbetween this shot in some areas before continuing to tie down and clean up my animation.
If you are interested I have a channel on LiveStream where I will be streaming my progress as I work on each shot. If you'd like a glimpse into the process of taking a shot from rough to final composite, then let me know and I can post a schedule for these streams in one of my updates. As it is they are a bit random. You can find my LiveStream page via this link:
Hey all! So I've returned from my trip to Ottawa. It was both an enjoyable and productive experience with some great contacts being made. I am currently in the process of making my next P.O.C. This stands for "Proof of Concept". I will be taking a shot from my film and taking it all the way to completion as a way to familiarize myself with the process and give all of you an idea of what the final product will look like.
Keep an eye out for it in these next couple of weeks.
