There's expensive work yet to be done (mastering, printing and pressing) and that's why I'm turning to you for assistance in bringing this music to the public.
In late 2014, Sanjaya accepted my invite to perform at a benefit show for a non-profit organization. The band sounded so good, with Sanjaya proving to be an expert interpreter of Great American Songbook standards, that I booked additional gigs... and a recording session at Fastback Studio in Seattle. My sax lines intertwine with Sanjaya's vocals for this one-of-a-kind project.
The personnel for the recording session:
- Chaz Lipp - alto saxophone
- Sanjaya Malakar - vocals
- Charlie Hiestand - piano
- Trevor Pelletier - upright bass
- Chris Patin - drums
- Gary Lanz - producer
But again, that's ONLY if we reach the full funding goal. I've included some extras that will hopefully inspire you to dig as deeply into your pocket as possible, but ALL contributions are greatly appreciated and every one includes a reward! All backers will have exclusive access to updates as the campaign progresses.
- Mastering: $1,000
- Printing/Pressing CDs: $1,000
Risks and challenges
Once the necessary funding is in place, there are no risks to completing the project. The music is all recorded and rough mixes have been made. Outside of some kind of force majeure, there is no foreseeable obstacle to fulfilling all backer rewards in a timely manner.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
