What is the RPG WorldBuilder App? RPG WorldBuilder is an Android app designed to be used as an accessory for tabletop role-playing games. RPG WorldBuilder makes role-playing adventure planning and bookkeeping a bit easier on GMs as it allows for easy map creation, dice rolling, custom charts, and seamlessly creating worlds. The goal for this app was to create a toolkit for GMs who want to plan adventures and create worlds wherever they go all on their mobile device.
What features does the app have?
Overworld Map Creation allows users the ability to generate tile-based, procedurally generated or blank overworld maps of various sizes. Once generated, users can further modify the map by replacing tiles with various biomes. Users can also attach builds (such as ruins, dungeons, etc.), encounters, and treasure to tiles. Users can create descriptions, weather, and notes describing important details of that map area.

Dungeon Map Creation allows users the ability to generate tile-based, procedurally generated or blank dungeon maps of various sizes. Once generated, users can further modify the map by replacing tiles with other dungeon tiles. Users can create multiple levels to the dungeons and also add encounters and treasure to tiles. Users can create descriptions and notes describing important details of particular tiles. Check out this video for a deeper look into this function.

Digital Version of World Architect Cards: Last year we ran a successful Kickstarter for a deck of World Architect Cards. These cards allow users to randomly draw various biome-based cards with descriptions and weather to aid in the map making process. The RPG WorldBuilder app features these same cards in digital form. Now, cards, descriptors and weather are procedurally generated each time you create a new deck. You can also determine deck sizes and specific deck biomes for greater flexibility. Future app add-ons will allow you include new biome cards with specific themes.

Dice Roller allows you to choose various dice, number of dice, and modifiers so you can roll using your mobile device.

Custom Chart Builder allows you to create custom charts for randomly generating your very own outcomes based on a predetermined list of variables you create. Users can create charts and fill those charts with the results they choose. They can also create descriptions for each result. Basically, you can build a randomization chart for anything you can imagine.

Why do you need this app? The RPG WorldBuilder fills a gaming niche by providing mobile portability while reducing bookkeeping. No longer do GMs need to keep notes on specific map locales. No longer must dungeons remain on paper, their encounters, treasures and traps located is separate places. No longer does the GM need to carry unwieldy notes. The RPG WorldBuilder app for your Android device does all of this and more. It aids in your consolidating the materials you need for your tabletop role-playing experience so you can spend more time creating and less time organizing.

The following introduces stretch goals and the levels at which they are attained.
How will the app be delivered? After the Kickstarter project concludes and payments are processed, we will create a list of backers who will be whitelisted and those who will receive promo codes. We are only offering promo codes to 100 backers. All other backers (at the $5 level and above) will be whitelisted for the early beta release of the app which we expect to deliver by December 2017. All whitelisted backers will be able to buy the app for .99 cents from the Play Store once the beta version is released. All promo code holders will get the app for free. All backers at the $5 level and above (this includes promo code holders and whitelisted backers) will get the full version of the app when it is released publically in mid-2018 (your early version of the app will simply be updated to the full version). We will stay in contact with all backers notifying them of each stage in this process.
What is the beta version of the RPG WorldBuilder app?
The beta version of this app is an unfinished but working version of the app. There may be bugs and other elements of the app that are incomplete or require updates during the beta development process. The purpose of this Kickstarter project is to open this app up for limited public release in order to get feedback and input to guide our direction as to the finished project. We want to stress that the beta is not a finished product.
How will digital rewards be delivered? All backers who receive digital rewards will be sent emails with reward download instructions at or before the delivery dates specified in their reward level. We will repeatedly inform backers that rewards have been made available and we will work with backers to make sure they get all rewards they are entitled to.
Can I give feedback on the app during the beta development phase?Yes. We wanted to release the app to a limited number of backers in order to get user feedback so we can make this app the best it can be. We want to hear your feedback and input on what you like in the app and what you think will make it better. We will take into account your comments as we move toward the final version of the app.
Risks and challenges
After having run three previous Kickstarters, we understand that there are some risks involved. However, each of our previous projects delivered early. With this project we have already completed all of the digital rewards. Our app development team is small and flexible and have already been working several months to get the app in an early release state. Our goal is to deliver this project on or before the specified dates. As can be seen in our previous Kickstarter projects, we will communicate with our backers in case of delays or other issues concerning their rewards. Our integrity and transparency is of the utmost importance and we have worked hard to build the trust of our backers, not only in our promises to deliver, but in the products we create as well.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
