What Are Dungeon
Dungeon Architect Cards are a deck of 54 cards (plus 1 instruction card) that allows role-playing enthusiasts, world builders, GMs, gamers, map makers, dungeon designers and anyone who has an imagination to create and describe unique dungeons.
How do Dungeon Architect Cards work?
Each card has an image of a dungeon room on the front and back of the card. These rooms are built on a square grid design which can easily be implemented into any fantasy rpg. Each room also has door locations. Below each room image are a series of 12 descriptors. These descriptors include words which are used to describe the room. The descriptors are words that describe items, smells, sounds, light sources, etc.. Each time a GM draws a card they create a new room for their dungeon. Rooms can then be populated with treasure, monsters, traps, etc. using whatever gaming handbooks the GM has available. Essentially, the Dungeon Architect Cards take the guesswork and time out of creating the physical dungeon.
What makes Dungeon
Architect Cards unique?
With a deck of Dungeon Architect cards in your pocket, you are essentially a walking dungeon architect. The deck is both a handy and unique way of creating dungeons for all types of fantasy tabletop games. Dungeon Architect Cards are system universal and can be used with any fantasy rpg. Dungeon Architect Cards are especially handy for GMs who are running sandbox style campaigns and adventures. With a deck of these cards, a GM can create on the fly dungeons for characters who wander from the prescribed adventure path. For the GM who plans an adventure, the Dungeon Architect Cards can serve as an aid to create a quickly made dungeon complete with descriptions.
Dungeon Architect Cards are also a great tool for getting kids into dungeon building and adventure creation. When used in a group setting, kids can take turns drawing cards, describing rooms, and discussing the type of dungeon they are building. Perfect for young or new GMs.
10 More Reasons
Dungeon Architect Cards are awesome...
1. They aid GMs and players in creating dungeons either on the fly or in pre-game prep.
2. They give GMs the confidence that they always have a new dungeon ready for their players, even if they haven't prepared before the gaming session.
3. For kids, the Dungeon Architect Cards can build spatial awareness as they learn to draw maps and work with shapes while creating their own dungeon layouts.
4. The descriptors provided on the cards are great to get kids thinking about how they would describe rooms and use adjectives to create setting and atmosphere.
5. Dungeon Architect Cards can be used as a creative tool to build not only dungeons but stories around the dungeons.
6. They can be used as a group dungeon building tool for young players and kids to create custom maps as they work together to build the map and describe the rooms.
7. Dungeon Architect Cards are printed front and back to allow for a deck that is of manageable size. This makes the deck easy to carry and ready in a moment's notice.
8. Perfect for building just about any sized dungeon from a few rooms to a mega dungeon.
9. Dungeon Architect Cards are two-sided which gives you options when creating your dungeon (sides can also be chosen at random by flipping a coin to add more randomness if needed.)
10. They are a one-of-a-kind, numbered, limited edition collectible.
About the Cards
The Dungeon Architect Cards are standard poker-sized cards. Each deck contains 54 dungeon cards and 1 instruction card for a total of 55 cards. Each dungeon card is two-sided so one deck of cards gives you 108 dungeon rooms. Each side of the dungeon cards contains an image of the room with doors and a list of 12 descriptors. The cards are full color and printed on 300gsm blue center playing card stock. They have a gloss finish and rounded corners. Each deck of Dungeon Architect Cards comes in a limited edition, numbered tuck box. These cards will only be available through this Kickstarter, they will never be printed or sold again.
There are five categories of card included in the deck: square rooms, rectangular rooms, circular rooms, odd rooms, and corridors. Each category has a specific color and background. Each card was designed to look as though it were hand drawn as homage to old school dungeon building.
Why We Need Your Help
We are a small gaming company and crowd sourcing allows us to create and distribute products that we would otherwise be unable to. The Dungeon Architect Cards are already completed and ready to be printed, but we need your help to make this happen. Printing costs are expensive (as are shipping costs) and with your help, we can take the Dungeon Architect Cards from digital, to print, to your gaming table. The money we receive through this Kickstarter will go toward paying the printer, the shipping, and the designers.

Risks and challenges
The cards are already finished and we have already received proofs. Once the project is funded, the PDF versions will immediately be sent to backers and the physical cards will be ordered. Once we receive the cards, we will begin shipping them out to backers.
We understand that potential problems can arise and we will do everything to curtail such events as much as possible. Our first Kickstarter project (for our Far Away Land RPG which had 8 stretch goals) shipped to backers nearly 3 months before the projected delivery dates. Our goal with this project is to provide the same speed of delivery so that our backers get their rewards as fast as possible. As with our first project, we will stay in constant touch with our backers, posting weekly updates about what is taking place with the project, where we are and what can be expected. Our goal is to communicate with our backers and give them the assurance that they will get what they paid for in the specified time. Since the cards are already finished and just need to be printed and shipped, we foresee no delays and plan to ship before the stated delivery date.
