Our aim is for Block & Bottle to become the go to place for high quality, locally sourced meat and craft beer in the North East. We are on a crusade to bring great meat, charcuterie and craft beer to the people of Newcastle and Gateshead, with fully traceable produce from local and regional farms and suppliers.
We will be curating a shop full of exciting, locally sourced free range meat and interesting hand crafted charcuterie that will make your mouth water. As well as amazing craft beers from around the world, with a particular focus on the brilliant North East breweries.
At Block & Bottle we will not only offer all the products that you would usually expect to find in your local butchers or bottle shop, but we will also offer draught beer to take home in growler bottles and unique charcuterie produce such as Salami, Chorizo, Coppa ham, Breseola, Pancetta, Guanciale, Jerky, Pepperettes and many more.
We are almost ready to open but need your help to raise £1,000 to buy the equipment to produce the charcuterie, including the curing chamber and pH testing equipment.
Risks and challenges
With such a new venture we know getting customers to come and try us out is going to be one of the hardest challenges. However with the quality of produce and our lovely smiling faces we know our reputation will quickly grow and precede us.
Producing charcuterie is a real art form, however the Master Butcher behind Block & Bottle, has 12 years of experience creating new products and working with some of the best butchers in the UK and was part of the shop that came runner up in Best Butcher Shop of the Year 2014.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
