Base Roll is a 2-4 player baseball/softball dice and card game created by Freddie Barlico email@example.com and designed by John Pelico III, www.johnpelicoiii.com.
There are two versions of Base Roll you can choose from. If you like to play games at home and want a more authentic feel of the game of baseball you'll want the board. Those that like smaller sized games, take the version with Base Cards. Below are both examples. Same Game, different sizes. All levels Of game play are in both versions.
There are three levels of play: Rookie, Professional, and All-Star. The Rookie level uses only dice and player cards. Professional level adds Coach Calls and All Star adds a lineup and more Coach Call usage. The layers of strategy add with each level as cards you play will influence the outcome of rolls. You can bunt, steal, block home runs and try for the cycle.
Below is a short tutorial on the most basic level of play
CONTENTS (5.5x5.5in matte box)
- 86 cards-54 player, 32 action (adding hall of fame pack increases number of cards)
- Board- 4 base cards or board depending on your version
- 6 dice
- score pad
Each team uses three dice to roll combinations that move their players around four bases to score points. Using your dice and cards, you can affect rolls and block potential base hits, bunts, and even home runs.
The board consists of 4 total bases, starting with Home, and then First, Second, and Third, respectively (counterclockwise).
ROOKIE LEVEL (Quick Play) to learn more in depth play please visit www.baserollgame.com
Place the four white base cards. Home being the bottom center and starting counter clockwise in a diamond shape first, second, third.
Shuffle all decks separately and place the green action cards aside. Pick your Team Deck and place each deck facing down. Each team also chooses 3 Green action cards and will use More during the game.
HOW TO PLAY (Quick Play)
When a player is up, draw a card from your deck and place them on home. Read the rules on each card and your rolls will be affected by that player. Please read Offensive and Defensive rules for more. You will have the chance to play many action cards that affect each roll.
If a player gets an out or returns home after a roll. place them in a discard pile. When players are left on base and a team records its third out,The players on base will be discarded before the player that was up. If you play your entire deck simply flip over your discard pile and start again.
SCORING and Winning
When a player has moved around all the bases and returns to home they have scored a run. The team with the highest amount of runs after 7 innings is the winner. If the score is tied after the 7th, the game continues into extra innings. If the Visitors are winning in the last inning and the Home team cant score the visitors win. Home team always rolls in the last inning.
This game is very easy to learn if you already know baseball or softball but if you don't its still easy once you have the full instructions in front of you. If You would like to learn the full version with more levels of game play please visit www.baserollgame.com
