We've made the first four episodes, which you can watch here. Now we need your help to fund the second season!
I created Introverts because I couldn't find a group of friends on television that felt like the type of girls I hang out with. We don't spend our nights at cool Brooklyn loft parties like in Girls. We don't embarrass ourselves by bursting into song at inopportune moments like in New Girl. And we certainly don't discuss our vaginas over lunch like in Sex and the City. The characters on this series are introverts, and they're every bit as fun, interesting, and flawed as any other group of friends.
Because you saw the first four episodes and want to see more! Or maybe because you're my mom. We have a lot of wondrous surprises planned for the second season. Susan gets a boyfriend, whom she doesn't actually like but is too nice to break up with. Amy tries online dating, with disastrous results. The girls are forced to attend another party, also with disastrous results. In fact, lots of disastrous things happen, but hopefully not for you, since you'll be too busy staying at home watching Introverts and laughing.
Introverts make up at least a quarter of the population, but it’s too rare that the media gets us right. Society tends to undervalue and overlook introverts, and TV is no exception. By helping us make more episodes, you can help change that. The internet is a place where independent voices and series can live and flourish. We’d love to make more episodes, grow our audience – and maybe even bring this story to a network one day. But we can’t do it without your help. Also, did we mention the nifty rewards?
If we surpass our goal, you get to see more episodes! We plan on making at least six episodes but could make as many as thirteen, including a Christmas special with talking stuffed animals. For $8K we can make all the episodes. For $4K we can make half. How many episodes we get to make is up to you.
AMOUNT RAISED EPISODES WE CAN MAKE *
$4000 6 Episodes
$5000 8 Episodes
$6000 10 Episodes
$7500 12 Episodes
$8000 13 Episodes
WHAT WILL THE MONEY BE USED FOR?
We made the first four episodes out of pocket. We've done everything as cheaply as possible, but these things aren't free. We have to pay for lights, a camera, sound equipment, locations, our tiny crew, food to feed our tiny crew... That's why we're asking for help. In return we promise to be frugal and forego the corporate jet this time around. The same cannot be said for the strippers and little people catapults.
WHO ARE WE?
Black Mesa Films consists of Rachel Tucker and Nick Lawrence along with two feline interns. The company has produced two award-winning micro budget feature films. Time Expired has over 1.2 million online views and can be seen for free on YouTube or Vimeo. Shades is currently in post-production. The cats are currently sleeping.
Risks and challenges
We've already made four episodes of Introverts, so making more should be a breeze. We would like to stress though that the exact number of episodes may vary, depending on how much we raise and if we run into any unforeseen obstacles. We've got thirteen fun-filled scripts ready to go and will try everything in our power to make as many of them as possible. If we fail to reach our initial goal of $4K, you won't be charged and we get nothing. That's why your help is so important!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
