While some Kickstarter projects need your money for designing, balancing, prototyping, etc I chose another approach for my dreamproject:
I already invested the necessary time and resources for the complete pre production and now the remaining task is the production.
Because I cannot afford to produce a huge amount of boxes without having a rough idea about the sales this is why I offer you the chance to pre-order WARIGIN via Kickstarter now:
It allows me to plan the numbers accordingly.
Is it really possible to start the production with one Euro if I only sell one copy?
No, of course not.
But I would lie if I tell you that I need x.xxx€ to start the production of the game because I'll do a very small print for SPIEL in Essen anyway.
Every indication during the Kickstarter campaign allows me to increase this number.
The point is that I planned everything in a way which allows me to produce in small charges. This is possible because
a) I do a lot of stuff manually,
b) I agreed with some suppliers on very short term delivery times in case of additional request and
c) I personally take the financial risk for materials like the playing cards which have a minimum order quantity.
The effect is that
i) I cannot produce huge amount of units at the same time (manual work) but that I can adjust accordingly to the demand
ii) that future perks might have a later delivery date (because of material delivery and packaging).
I hope that you appreciate this approach and understand why a higher campaign goal is not necessary at the moment.
From my perspective quite the opposite is true: Compared to an e.g. 100k budget which will be used for future development / additional design / unknown rules etc the risk with WARIGIN is smaller because you already know what you get (please check the rules and have a look at the board game section in the text).
If you still feel uncomfortable you can of course decide to not support WARIGIN at the moment. That is fine, too.
I am happy if you follow the campaign in this case nevertheless and that you have another look short before the campaign ends.
