68 Unique New Pieces Unlocked!
Over 16 amazing stretch goals, we have managed to increase the size of all Master Chief and higher pledges by a whopping 68 models!
Additionally, we just recently hit 125,000 SEK, and to celebrate we are adding a detail pass to increase the quality of the original models for those who desire it (and of course will still be releasing the simplified versions for those who don't).
Ideal for tabletop role-playing and war gaming!
I love tabletop role-playing and 3D, so it was only natural for me to want to combine the two. In addition to playing a lot of fantasy tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder, I spend a lot of time playing sci-fi games like Star Wars and Traveller, and very soon Starfinder. However, I noticed that there are limited options when it comes to Sci-Fi themed 3D printed tile sets, especially for spaceship deck plans, which I love!
NOTE: These are STL files only – you will need to print them yourselves, either with your own 3D printer or via a printing service.
Useful for both tabletop roleplaying and war gaming, you can use these tiles to enhance your gaming experience in a modular fashion.
Pricing is in SEK (Swedish kronor), and around 80:- is equivalent to $10 USD.
By popular demand, we have added some highly detailed add-ons! You can grab them by increasing your pledge by the indicated amount! Don't worry, we will sort out all the details at the end of the campaign with a pledge manager!
We have the Space Fighter and Gargantuan Drive, and the Bridge Set!

Where Does Your Money Go?
I've spent a good while modelling and printing everything you see here in the rewards and a good deal more. The proceeds of this kickstarter will go back into creating additional content in the future, as well as to 3D printing equipment and software.
You can pledge for the various ship ranks below at discounted rates, or purchase items individually as desired. Pledge the total amount you wish to contribute. At the end of the campaign, a pledge manager will be made available where you can adjust your final pledge.
We just the incredible 125,000 SEK stretch goal of increasing the detail level of all original tile sets!
This was the final stretch goal of the campaign, although there might be one or two surprises more depending on how high we end up!
We had to move onto a new image for our stretch goals! Here is the old one!
Here are some renders of the unlocked Stretch Goals so far! These are just a taste! Most of these offerings will have several different variants!
You can pledge for these tile sets individually by pledging for the rewards above.
You can pledge for the expansions individually by pledging for the rewards above.
Add ons are in addition to the pledges above. This means that you must add an additional amount to your final pledge. At the end of the campaign you will be sent a pledge manager where you can declare the items you added.
Please note that the Stretch Goals are added for free to all pledges of Master Chief or higher.
If we beat our initial goal, I will be expanding the contents of the Master Chief and better pledges to include additional models! The Stretch Goals pledge can be added separately if you just want the extras! We don't want to spoil everything, but expect to see control elements, ways to move between decks and additional surprises!
Detailed Enough to Be Interesting, Generic Enough to Be Reusable
Although cost effective in the long run, printing terrain does take a considerable amount of time, and to make up for this investment, we have tried to focus on reusability. We decided to keep the pieces generic enough to be reusable time and time again in different scenes, but interesting enough that they should not feel too boring.
Most of the models shown have been printed at 200 microns (0.2 mm/layer) and take an average of 30-60 minutes per piece on my Flashforge Creator Pro. Higher detail is of course possible by increasing the settings or better printing techniques.
Easy to Paint
Our sci-fi tiles take advantage of the tell-tale patterns that 3D printers leave on the items printed. With even just a quick coat of base paint, shade and a dry brushing, the patterns actually are accentuated and look like bolts and grates, creating interesting terrain in a short amount of time. Adding a splash of colour after the base paint phase, can really lift the piece with minimal effort.
Each piece shown used the above process and took no longer than 10 cumulative minutes (and usually less than 5) to paint. I am by no means a great painter, and these are all quick jobs. Multiple coats and mad painting skills will of course produce better results.
Some rewards offer commissions, given in hours of labour. This is the amount of time that we will use to sketch out and model a design for tiles, objects or creatures. Commissioned work will require a small consultation for a part of your time via mail correspondence or other media. Reference images are a bonus.
The list below can tell you approximately what a commissioned time period will allow for.
- 2-hours - A 2x2 tile, or wall piece, or two 1x1 tiles of simple design
- 5-hours - Several of the above or a simple robot design
- 10-hours - A combination of the above, a complex robot design or an organic creature.
2nd Dynasty retains all the rights for any commissioned works, which cannot infringe on other peoples copyrights. The commissioned works will be included in the Commander and higher reward levels.
Commissioned works are not for resale, although you may contact me for separate commissions with different agreement terms.
All tiles are compatible with the amazing OpenLOCK system created by Printable Scenery, so you can mix and match and supplement our tiles with products from their line and the dozens of other suppliers of OpenLOCK-compatible scenery.
Special Thanks to:
Ola Larsson for his incredible sci-fi backgrounds, and Hannes and Martin at the Wintergatan youtube channel for their help with filming and editing the pitch video.
Risks and challenges
There are very few risks and challenges for this project, since most of the sets are already complete and ready for printing. Of course, any stretch goals or commissions will take additional time to complete. The modelling process however is straight forward, and, if necessary, we work with a variety of modellers that can be called in to work on the project at short notice, if needed.
Excessive commissioned files or reaching stretch goals may delay production by a few weeks, depending on the volume.
There is a small chance that there may be issues with STLs for you and your printer. I will do what I can to help fix any issues with the files themselves, although do not offer tech support for 3D printing.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
