About this project
“There will be signs in the sun, moon and stars. On the earth, nations will be in anguish and perplexity at the roaring and tossing of the sea. People will faint from terror, apprehensive of what is coming on the world..." - Luke 21:25-26
By the beginning of the 21st century, Earth’s population had grown to 6.7 billion people. Despite mankind’s overpopulation, modern science continued to create new medical advancements to halt or slow the progression of age and disease and the planet’s population swelled, that is, until what some Biblical scholars would soon come to refer to as “the end of days”.
What started as a terrible biological accident in the heart of New York City, would bring the human species to the brink of extinction and introduce the world to a new and voracious predator. What was once the average human would now walk the Earth as the living dead or “Hollows” as they are known, with one primal urge, the need to feed off the flesh of the living.
As the human race wallowed in its impending extinction, another predator, one much more controlled and secretive, lurks and observes from the shadows. Nosferi, or vampires as they are more commonly known, now see themselves as much of an endangered species as humans. Nosferi only have one food source, the blood of humans. Now it is up to the Nosferi, monsters in their own right, to guarantee their own existence by safeguarding humanity from the Hollows.
Dead Blood is a story of a small but diverse band of human survivors who are greeted in the black of night by a terror as horrifying as the throngs of the undead that now have made them an endangered species. Forced into Nosferi protection, and surrounded by a world populated with zombies, there is no doubt that the human race will suffer, the real question is can humanity survive a chaotic world in which they have been reduce to a simple food source?

2Fanboys Productions and more notably, Dead Blood's creator, Noel Mercado would like to take this opportunity to thank you for giving us the opportunity to present to you a new twist and an original take on two of the most popular icons in horror - vampires & zombies! With your gracious pledges our primary goal is to produce, print & publish a 100 page full color graphic novel that we can share with all of you & the rest of the world.

Good question. The money will be used for two specific components.
One being the actual production of the novel itself. Production in this case is comprised of four (4) components: pencils, inks, colors & lettering. Pencils is the actual raw art of characters, objects & environment. Inking is the process of refining all of the lines associated with the pencils. It's used to give the pencils further depth & weight. It can be done digitally or by the old fashion method of using India ink. Coloring is well, coloring, adding the right colors & tones to both the pencil & inking processes. And finally lettering. Lettering is the process of adding dialogue bubbles & the actual dialogue and often times, sound effects, to the comic book and/or graphic novel. Because 2Fanboys does not have an in-house art studio it is necessary for us to outsource this part of the production to an art and/or comic production studio. The cost associated with this process can range anywhere from $3,500 to $10,000 depending on the talent pool and the reputation of the production house.
The second component is printing. Printing, like the actual production, can also be rather expensive. The good thing about printing however, is the more we print the lower the cost. We're planning a 500 copy (100 pages per copy) run but if the funding allows for it - we will definitely do more.
If all goes as scheduled with funding, production will begin in mid to late October with principle art, inking & coloring to be completed early to mid February barring any unforeseen scheduling and/or production issues.
Printing will begin shortly after & the graphic novel will be ready for distribution/sale in late February - early March. However, our pledge rewards will be the primary focus and all rewards will be fulfilled prior to any regular sales.
