THE BIG INTERVIEW NEEDS YOU!
Hi, thanks for reading this. I’m Graham Hunter and I need your support to help me and BackPage produce ‘The Big Interview’ podcast for the coming year.
So far the evidence is clear: we know you love listening to The Big Interview. You've told us it makes you happy, that it inspires you, that it makes you think, that there's nothing like it and that it brings back great memories. Some of you even admitted that it's keeping the dog fit - 10-minute 'walkies!' become one-hour marathons.
At the moment, about 100,000 of you listen to each episode. But to carry on for the next year we need you as investors - without you, it can't go on.
From the moment that our first episode, with Gary Neville, went to No1 on the iTunes chart it was clear that in-depth interviews based around a passionate love of football were what you wanted to hear. You've regularly and generously been in touch to tell us that. Thank you.
NO KICKSTARTER = NO PODCAST
For us, it has been worth it - in terms of enjoyment and feedback - but we pay for every part of those interviews ourselves. Planning, transport around the UK and beyond, accommodation, editing, equipment. Our money, our time. To carry on we must have your help.
We’re asking for the minimum we need to keep these interviews going for the next 12 months - at least as regularly as we have managed so far.
If we raise the necessary total you'll continue to get The Big Interview with not only great football personalities but people who are great at talking interestingly about the game we all love so much. We've noted all your suggestions!
The more we raise after that, the more episodes we can produce for you, the further we can go in search of our guests. Between all our listeners, you've suggested at least another 50 names from whom you'd like to hear. And I've got another 50 more.
Kickstarter is the best way for you to help. But it's all-or-nothing. If we fail to reach our target, everyone gets their money back and we simply cannot produce any more of these podcasts.
If we do achieve our target, we'll continue to ask for your help to fund what Kickstarter calls 'stretch goals'.
STRETCH GOALS = MORE EPISODES!
The more we raise, the more episodes we will produce and the closer we can get to becoming a weekly show.
Who knows WHO we'll get on the podcast?
We need your help, but we don't want it for nothing. You can get some great rewards that we think are unique and fun, to indulge yourself in or to gift to a favourite friend or family member. Just think about getting a year's worth of The Big Interview plus one of those treats.
For example: LA FIESTA. These are a limited number of parties across the UK and Ireland - strictly and exclusively for those who become our backers. For £40 you'll attend a Question and Answer event with me on stage where you will be able to ask anything about the football stories which fascinate you. I'll tell it honest, hard and strong. I'll tell you what the stars tell me when the microphone is off.
As well as funding The Big Interview and attending La Fiesta, you'll also be given a hardback copy of my Spain book, which I'll sign and dedicate to you or a loved one on the night. Plus a lot of fun. There'll be the music that I love... and some who are there might sing, too. We're going to do all we can to make these nights very special, because we appreciate the investment you'd be making in the show.
But no need to stop there. We've offered some rewards which we think might be even more special. Unique access to our work - to the point at which you could either become a Big Interview producer and meet the guest, or have the Big Interview made about YOUR life in football. Fan, pub team player, coach, football journo, director, ref, ex-pro, schoolboy genius... we'll even do one for agents. Yes, we will. Nothing for Blatter here, though.
We need your help to keep making what you tell us is the best football podcast out there. In fact on Twitter @niallermcgrath told us it was his 'little escape' from daily life. I loved that. Join us on a little escape - become a big part of The Big Interview.
