The water temple, shopping broadway and the future.

Posted by Jitesh Rawal (Creator)

Hey guys!

We will be releasing a new set of days and the transition away from the set-day style events at the beginning of January 2018. We want to talk about the future of Koe (声) now that 2017 is nearing its end, but we'll start off with our content update.

Water Temple

Remember that tower on the eastern side of the water island? Some terrible things have happened and it's time to grab the crystal within!

In traditional fashion, expect a trial or two to get in your way ascending the tower. Don't worry, there are no spoilers here.

You might also want to learn a little more about the crystals and Fleur's sister. A little extra language knowledge is available in the library too, but trawling through it is completely optional.

Soramachi's newest shopping area is the Soramachi broadway! You can spend the day shopping, eating ice cream, at the arcade, or even helping one of the shops for a little extra cash (along with a nifty temporary stat boost)

While each shop doesn't sell a whole lot from the get-go, you'll find that more expensive items will unlock as your progress through the game, including the new Alpha build in January. We've added around 30 new moves in the next build, so be sure to try them out!

Don't fancy going through each shop directly? Shouta here will take care of it! Just tell him what kind of item you're looking for and he'll come back with items of that type. For example, if you're just looking for magical attacks then Shouta is your guy.

The future of Koe (声)

While we are working at full steam, we appreciate that Koe (声) is getting further away from its intended release with every passing moment. We've decided, and can very confidently confirm that we will have the full and completed core game world available on 30 March 2018. This is along with all relevant story elements, uploaded into a build and available to play for our backers.

While this won't be the "final" build of Koe (声) it will essentially be our release candidate and will be the point we lose the alpha status for Koe (声). We will spend a while taking feedback from our community and polishing the language side of things immensely. We'll make sure to go into information about the exact amount of content, optional areas, end-game content and expansions in future updates.

We know many of our backers haven't tried the current alpha due to the sudden stop in story, and therefore would encourage anyone that may be looking to play a slightly "fuller" build of Koe (声) to try out the build at the beginning of next year. Our next alpha content release is scheduled for around 14th January 2018.

That's all for now. 2018 is going to be a big year for all of us, we can't wait to see what you guys think!

Until then, a very happy holidays and new year to you.

The Strawberry Games Team.

@Michael, you should have received a Steam beta key for Koe to your Kickstarter-associated e-mail address last year. Please contact me via Kickstarter message if you need it re-sent.

The shopping street screenshots look really good. I am excited to try the new areas.
I would suggest to try to push as much stuff that is ready as you can into the January build to maximize the free testing before the full release.

Some of the newer creatures and word animations are really good, I am curious what will show up.

Seems like meeting the March 30th deadline will be tough. Good luck to everyone! Don't get too stressed out.

Some people like to play games while they are still under development. I just don't. Please don't hate me.

@ Thomas, have you opted into the correct branch for your operating system? (…)
If you're still getting issues Steam should throw an error code at you. Can you let me know what it is by contacting me through a Kickstarter message?
